I am looking for descendants of, and information about, my great aunt Mary W. "Polly" Glenn (1819-1894)(part Choctaw, part Cherokee) who married first William Lampkins (a Creek Indian) and second Samuel Fisher ( 1795 - ? ) (a Creek Indian). Mary was born in Tennessee. The Samuel Fisher family emigrated from Alabama to the Creek Nation in 1847, according to the Stidham roll made in 1886 re Hickory Grounds Town. The Fishers established Fishertown, about five miles from Eufaula, located in today's McIntosh County, Oklahoma. Fishertown was a small town that prospered for a long while but had disappeared even before they built the Eufaula Lake. Mary Glenn became known as Polly Fisher. Her daughter Sarah Catherine Lampkins (1842-bef.1905) married William Fisher, the son of Samuel Fisher. A child of Samuel Fisher and Mary W. "Polly" Glenn was: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fisher (1858-? ) who married twice, William Lewis and James Akins. Elizabeth's children from these two marriages were: Ruth Oneita Lewis (1898 - ?) Noah Akins (1886 - ?) I have some of the children's names of Samuel Fisher's earlier marriages, too, if anyone needs them. The Fisher family lived in Checotah, OK in their reclining years. Hoping to find a descendant of this family who will help me fill in some of the missing pieces of the puzzle. I have a lot of information on Mary W. "Polly" Glenn's family to share.
