EDNA A. LEMLEY was born Jan. 1, 1923 in Saint Joe, AR to Ed and Mae (McFarland) Phillips, married Jeff Lemley in February 1947 at Checotah, OK and died June 17, 2001 in Checotah. Services were June 20 at West Side Free Will Baptist Church followed by burial in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Checotah. Survivors include a son, Billy D. Lemley of Eufaula; two daughters, Janie Camp and her husband Carl, Betty (lemley) Elliott and her husband Dan all of Checotah; a brother, Floyd Phillips of Checotah; two sisters, Wilma Boyles of Porterville, CA and Gladys Roberts of Dewar, OK; three grandsons, Jimmy Flud of Checotah, Carl Jeffery Camp of Muskogee and Chris Camp of Detroit, MI; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Oct. 18, 1978, and a son Jimmy Lemley on Sept. 6, 1968 in the Vietnam War. THE INDIAN JOURNAL, Thursday, June 28, 2001
