HAZEL LACKEY was born August 24, 1918 in Hitchita, Oklahoma to Auther and Maude (Rains) Morton, married Buddie Lackey on April 19, 1935 at Hitchita, and died June 11, 2001 at Hitchita. Services were June 13 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church followed by burial in the Hitchita-Lackey cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home of Checotah. Survivors include her husband; a son, Howard Lackey, and his wife Geney of Morris, OK; a daughter, Carolyn Rainwater, of Checotah, OK; a brother, Ohland Morion of Eufaula, OK; three sisters, Bernice Archer of Council Hill, OK, Kathryn Manderville of Midland, TX and Mathalena Allen of Perry, OK; four grandsons; a granddaughter; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
