I just got back from the Genealogy room at a close by library. Thankfully, they have the Microfilm for the 1850 Arkansas Census. I checked the index and the State index has it as Cottner. On the census, however, it appears as Cotner. Enumeration is as follows: 1870 Scott Co. Arkansas Washburn Township Household and Dwelling numbers are : 408 Cotner, Jacob 27 M Farmer Mo (?) Cannot read or write Cotner, Sarah 23 F Miss Cannot read or write Cotner, William 8 M Ark Attended school within the year Cotner, Mary J. 6 F Ark Attended school within the year Cotner, Nancy A. 4 F Ark Cotner, ?Pernelia E. 2 F Ark Still no luck on finding Mother, Nancy Traylor or sister Pernussa Traylor Smalley but I keep on diggin'.
