Pat, "Oklahoma Place Names" lists a town known as Wells named for Robert B. Wells, but it is in Kiowa County. The town of Wells that was in McIntosh County isn't listed. Michael do you have any idea where that would be in relation to the old line between the Creek Nation and the Cherokee Nation ? I live in California and I have no idea where highway 69 is located. My Wells ancestors lived in the general area of where the Wells Twp is located on the map from the 1870's till 1900's and I would really like to find out if this Twp had anything to do with one of them. Does anyone out there know if theres a book or something on the early Twps of McIntosh county that would give the info I'm looking for ? Thanks Pat Munroe

Do you have any idea when this picture was taken? My Grandfather, William A. Pullen aka Bud Pullen was associated with law in some way in McIntosh Co. He died in 1929. He was supposed to have been on a posse or something that captured the first man executed in the McAlister Prison, and have heard there was a picture made of them.
