    3. The Oklahoma Historical Museum has a lot of information on Indians, everyone who applied, not just those who were approved. Their research doesn't cost as much as the national archives do. I have obtained information from the museum but theirs may not be as complete as from the archives. The museum is also faster than the archives. Also, Creek Nation Genealogy.com has an index online of all the five civilized tribes who applied. Melva

    3. Pat I'm very glad someone was able to take over our list. I was afraid it would stagnate when Ron and Elaine were no longer able to do it. I am researching the following names: STITES, RICHEY/RITCHIE/RITCHEY, BROOKS,MCCLURE,MCVAY,MCGUIRE,BALLINGER and probably others that I can't think of right now. We live in Eufaula and were born in this county. My husband's line is BEST, BUTLER, CASEY,MORRISON,WOOD, and others. Just exchanged emails today with Ann Roberts and just saw her on our list. 1. Roll Call - ODOM, SCOTT
    2. Chris Odom
    3. Hi everyone! My McIntosh roots can be traced to my g-grandparents: George Washington ODOM and Kiamisha SCOTT. George was b. April 13, 1875 in Harmony, Johnson Co., AR to John D. ODOM and Susan Isabel STEWART. He died January 9, 1923 in Vinita, Craig Co., OK and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah, McIntosh Co., OK. George served in the US Army in the Philippine Insurrection. At one point, George served as City Marshal of Checotah. He married Kiamisha SCOTT on July 10, 1906 in Checotah, McIntosh Co., IT. Kia was the daughter of Daniel N. SCOTT and Emma FISHER. Kia was born August 13, 1886 in Fishertown, McIntosh Co., IT and died December 25, 1912 in Checotah, McIntosh Co., OK. She is buried in the Indian Territory cemetery without a marker in Checotah. Incidentally, she died in the house that she and George built that is still located at 502 N. 1st street in Checotah. George and Kia had one son: Raymond Vance ODOM. He was born February 27, 1908 in Checotah, McIntosh Co., OK and died June 24, 1988 in Muskogee, Muskogee Co., OK. Ray was an optometrist who practiced in Muskogee for many years. My father is Ray's only son: Ray Vance Odom, Jr. He is also an optometrist and currently practices in both Muskogee and Eufaula. I am also related to the other ODOMs of McIntosh Co., including Doc (William L.), Robert Herman, Martin, and Olah. I would like to hear from anyone who might have a connection and am very willing to share whatever info I have. Thanks! 2. Hi There, I have VERY limited information about the Hicks family connection but I am happy to provide you with what I have. My GGgrandmother, Mary L. Hicks was daughter to Robert Hicks and Polly VanHooser. Mary was born in Miller Co. Missouri in about 1861. She died between 1898-1905 in Henryetta Oklahoma. James Henry Ralston and Mary L. Hicks, as I am told, were married in Miller Co. Missouri. Given the birth states of the children I would gather that they were migratory, to some degree, between Missouri and Oklahom, prior to the passing of Mary. James Henry Ralston then married Idonna Belle Gray July 4, 1905. Sorry it is not much but if I am lucky enough to gain any additional information I will certainly keep you posted. Sincerely, Kevin...

    3. Pat, My James' family was mostly in the Maries, Gasconade, and Pulaski Counties of Missouri but that's only a couple of counties north of Howell County. In 1870 they were in Scott County, Arkansas. His parents were James Newberry Jr. and wife was Martha (Unknown surname.) I believe they moved from Scott County into Indian Territory but have nothing definite. He married Mary Ann Scott, Hayes, Pearce in 1901 in Muskogee and they lived in Bower, in Pittsburgh County, until 1905 when Mary Ann died. He married Nancy Hart of Checotah I believe it was 1908. I have it written down but not in front of me at the moment. I know little or nothing about Nancy except for her marriage to my great-grandfather. 2. Kevin Roberts in California here..... My lines, Clubb/Ralston/Martin/Brown/Green, were very elusive fixtures in Oklahoma. Most from Missouri and Kansas yet the children all seemed to migrate back to IT/Oklahoma. GGrGrandparents Frank Clubb married to Violetta Elizabeth Brown and James Henry Ralston married to Mary L. Hicks. Still searching for them but their children have been found in McIntosh Co. Turner and Beck Townships and LeFlore Co. Other side: James A. Green and Ruth Ann Smalley. Cobb Township, Beck township, Simpson, Turner. Associated relatives ( Smalley ) were found in Pittsburg Co. Lewis Martin, GrGrandfather, came to IT from Tennessee. Nothing is known of his family as he married in about 1905 and passed away in 1917. :( Welcome all. Hopefully someone recognizes some names....I certainly read all about yours.

    3. Pat, I have Jessie Lee b. February 15, 1895 and died May 20, 1971 He married Myrtle Leona Pearce October 10, 1915 in Stidham. They had daughters Dollie M. in 1917 and Lorene abt. 1924. Myrtle Leona Pearce was a sister to my grandmother, Martha Ora Newberry Molder. Oh MY! I forgot to put the Newberry name on here for the roll call; I"m sorry. James Newberry (my great-grandfather) lived in the Burton and Stidham areas. He died Christmas day in 1928 and he's buried in the Fame Cemetery (although I've never found the grave after they moved things around for Lake Eufaula.) 3. There was a Cyrus/Silas Newberry listed as an early (before 1850)settler of Howell county Missouri near the Ark. border. I found this in the book A History of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas by William Monks. Cyrus/Silas Newberry b. abt 1805 m. Sina/Lina Broardwaters. The Broadwaters were also early settlers of that county. I know that many of these Ark. Mo. settlers children migrated into Indian Territory. I have more on the Newberry's I believe, if so I'll let you know.
