Migration pattern. While reading the roll call messages I see several notations for folks living in Scott or Logan County, AR. My lines went from Logan and Scott Counties Arkansas to Nacogdoches County, TX to Indian Territory. Does anyone know the history of this migration pattern other than the availability of land? Cyndi Hutchens

Good Morning Everyone, Question: Do any of you have family by the name of Cross. I have learned recently that my grandmother, Ruby Mae Vera Clubb, was "forced" into an early marriage prior to her marriage to my grandfather. Nothing is known about this marriage other than the name, supposedly, was Cross. This marriage would have been short lived. I found my grandmother on the 1930 census living in Arkansas with her older sister. She is listed as age at first marriage "13" wow..this was news to me. Also, she is listed as a widow. I had always been told that she "fled" the marriage and ran to her sister. I assume that she might have stated "widow" if she was hiding out or something. I would suspect that this marriage may have transpired in 1928 but have no idea which County. I do know that there were some family living in McIntosh Co. but I have found no record to verify the marriage. If anyone does have Cross family from the area, I have a picture that was sent to me of my grandmother and who, the sender states, is my grandmother's first husband. I would be more than happy to scan and email a copy to anyone who might think that this marriage or Cross family member could be in their line. If nothing else, it might be nice to find out, at the very least, what his first name was. Sincere thanks, Kevin in California.

I think I'm missing your name somewhere, is it Doris? If wrong, please set me right. I'm doubly kin to the Pendergrafts. Hang with me here. My great-grandfather, James L. Newberry, married Mary Ann Scott Hayes Pearce (Widow of James Bud Pearce.) Mary Ann was the mother of Maudenna (Dena) Pearce, who married James Thomas Pendergraft. James was the son of Melvin Asbury and Martha Newberry Pendergraft. Martha was also the sister to my James L. Newberry. I'm loving these little stories. I'm going to print this one off and also save it to the family file. Thank you so much for sharing. I met him, with my Dad, usually at Decoration at Fame. My sisters & I went out there one winter & he was walking down the road, so we stopped and talked to him. He got in the car with us & we drove around to where he said was "Old Fame". It was in the middle of a cow pasture!! He always had on a long coat that looked like it came from the Civil War. My sister called him "long coat". He showed us where his wife is buried, I believe its called the Moore Cemetery not far from the Fame Cem. How are you related to the Pendergrafts? I don't know much .....just that my mother's cousin Elsie Grayson married a Wells and they had a daughter, Nadine Wells. They were not married very long. Not really my line; was just rattling off names off the top of my head. Thanks so much for taking over the list.....like others, I thought we would be without an administrator for a long time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "pmunroe" <pmunroe@sbcglobal.net> To: <OKMCINTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 12:36 PM Subject: Re: [OKMCINTO] Roll Call > Doris, tell me about your Wells, please. > > Pat > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "thejenks" <thejenks@valuelinx.net> > To: <OKMCINTO-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 10:27 PM > Subject: Re: [OKMCINTO] Roll Call > > > > Oh yes, I also have Pittman, Musick, Grayson, Wells, Pipkins, and more in > > Eufaula area. > > Doris Pullen Jenkins > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "bemillsap" <bemillsap@sbcglobal.net> > > To: <OKMCINTO-L@rootsweb.com> > > Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 9:03 PM > > Subject: [OKMCINTO] Roll Call > > > > ============================== > Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration > Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial.
