Ms. Melva, Where did your Hulls come from, any from Hardeman Co. Tn.? Jim
Hi, I saw the message and a name caught my eye. I am researching the BAILEY family from the Eufaula area. I went back there this past summer and found how hard it was to research on hand the cemetaries. I was trying to find the death certificate of my husband's ggrandfather Isaac Shepherd Bailey who was born Sept . 4, 1848 and died March 20, 1924 in Mellette, Oklahoma, according to a previous researcher. I am told he and his first wife are buried in the New Mellette Cemetery, but there is no headstone. I have toured the cemetery myself and can vouch for that. The other Baileys that are buried in that cemetery tie into my husband's line. I went to the Eufaula public library and the very helpful librarian showed me the records for the KELLEY Funeral home, but alas, no Isaac S. Bailey at all. Oklahoma City didn't have a death certificate for the dates and place I have. I am stumped. The name of John Reeves, as I saw earlier rang a bell because I have a John Reeves who married a Nora May Alvey. They had two children in my records -- William Albert and Norma Jean Reeves. This line ties into my husband's. Nora's mother was Nancy Ann Bailey, Isaac's daughter. They lived in Eufaula. If anyone connects up with any of these names, please e-mail me. I will share what I have. Robin Bailey [email protected] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Kick off your party with Yahoo! Invites. http://invites.yahoo.com/
Posted on: Mcintosh County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Mcintosh/489 Surname: ------------------------- Peggy have I replied to you on a previous McIntosh county inquiry about the Anthony and Hull families of Hanna? There has never been a funeral home in Hanna. Those too poor to use a funeral home were usually buried in a pine box made at the Hanna Lumber Yard. Have you checked out the death notices on the McIntosh County web site? They have a listing from the Kelley Funeral Home that goes back a long way and they were the only funeral home in Eufaula for a long time. I also have newspaper articles about the toronado that were copied from microfilm. My husband's grandmother was injured in that toronado. The toronado in Hanna was in 1936. I was only 5 years old but I remember it well. I am out of state right now but will start back to Oklahoma tomorrow. I will contact you again when we get back to Eufaula. In the meantime I would suggest looking at the death notices. I don't believe Eufaula ever had a hospital so your ggrandmother may have died in Henryetta, Okmulgee county, which was the closest place with a hospital. Also, have you checked the cemetery listings for mcintosh county? A large number of cemeteries have been inventoried and placed on the McIntosh county web site, including Hanna,Eufaula and Checotah. I remember a John Reeves who carried the mail from Eufaula to Hanna and also had a rural mail delivery route during the 1940s and 1950s. Hope this gives you some leads and I will be in contact later.

When were your grandparents deaths? There are no funeral homes in Hanna. If we knew an approximate date I could try to locate some names of some area funeral homes in Eufaula and Henryetta, etc. Joe B. ----- Original Message ----- From: sandra durham <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2000 1:37 PM Subject: [OKMCINTO] Hannah Funeral homes > Does anyone have a listing of the funeral homes in Hannah. Sorry, My last posting was to go to Thelma not to the list! Hi Thelma, I am still working on the Levi Blevins b 1817 m Elizabeth Young in Tishomingo MS. I have just recently found Alford Blevins wife Nancy's maiden name was Phillips. I received a msg in Dec of last year that they were buried in Hanna. Billie, one of my other cousins has been trying to find a death certificate on either one. With no luck. So I thought I would try and find the funeral homes close by and see if anyone has old records. Any luck on your search lately? We still have not found any siblings or parents of Levi Blevins b 1817.
