    3. Sorry, I don't know any of the Lynns. I wish my Dad were still with us, he knew everyone at Fame I think. He was born and raised there til he was about 19 and the family moved to Eufaula. We used to visit the cemetery at least once a year when he was alive. He had Patterson, Pullen, Choate, relatives there, all moved on or dead by now. Arveta Blevins was a first cousin to him. He was also good friends with the Turners and Selfs among others.

    3. Belinda, Could you tell me the names of your ggfather's children? The Clarence Pittman I am referring to had only one son that I knew of. His name is Lehman Pittman. Clarence married my aunt who already had a son, Jimmy Rushing. This Clarence was a barber by trade and lived in Corpus Christi, Tx. before retiring to Muskogee. I believe he was born and raised in the Stidham area. Hoping to hear from you. Doris Pullen Jenkins

    3. Would anyone on the list happen to have a copy of an obituary for Clarence Pittman, who died Jan 2, 2000? I found his name on the SSDI and it listed his residence as Muskogee. I am thinking he is probably the husband of my Dad's deceased sister, Minnie Pullen Pittman. The last word I had of him, he was in a Eufaula Nursing Home. SSDI lists his birth as 6 April 1905 which is about the right age for him. He was originally from the Stidham area. Any help appreciated. Doris Pullen Jenkins

    3. Posted on: Mcintosh County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Mcintosh/500 Surname: ------------------------- Peggy: In answer to your inquiry to McIntosh County, I noticed that I had not copied the complete article from the Indian Journal on the toronado at Hanna May 1936. My computer is locked up so I went to the library today and copied the newspaper article again. I had checked several cemeteries but could not find where your Reeves' were buried. The newspaper article was continued on to the back page of the paper and as I was scrolling over to it I saw the heading of an article "HANNA NEWS". I hit pay dirt there. A paragraph in that article stated: "The funeral services for Mrs Reeves, the only victim of the storm to die, were held Sunday. Burial was in the Hillaby cemetery." The newspaper comes out weekly on Thursday and the date on the paper was May 14, 1936. The toronado was the previous Friday making it May 8 when your great grandmother was injured and May 9 when she died. The Hillaby cemetery is on private property now, east of Hanna, but the owner does not mind us visiting the cemetery. As soon as the weather cools off I will go to that cemetery and see if I can find a headstone for your grandparents. If you would like to have the information I copied, please send me your mailing address. If my computer was working I could scan it and send it with the e-mail. I am using my husband's computer and he does not have a scanner. Melva Best

Posted on: Mcintosh County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Mcintosh/496 Surname: Copeland ------------------------- Jeannean, Elk Creek is about 1/2 mile west of Honey Springs Cemetery. Both are in the north part of McIntosh County very near the Muskogee county line. The USGS has a very good website that allows you to search for view/print maps of locations anywhere in the US at: http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html However, that part of the county is in Township 12 North Range 17 East. The 1900 census of that area has been transcribed, and I don't find a Copeland family in that area, so it may be that they had moved by then. Good luck
