Dear List Readers, I am new to the list & I am researching the surnames of SWEEDEN, COTHRAN & STOUT. I need information on Georgann (UPCHURCH) SWEEDEN who married #2. W. A. CAMPBELL, Aug. 14, 1908 at Eufaula. When & where did she die & where is she buried? Thanks for reading & any info would be appreciated.
Dear List Readers I am in hopes that one of you might be able to help me. I am searching for my Great Aunt FLORENCE PRICE/MUMFORD/MUNFORD. She was married in Eufala on Jan 30,1914 to GEORGE ANDREW MUMFORD. They were there for awhile before he took her back to Arkansas. She gave birth to two children and one of them died. I don't know if it was Oklahoma or Arkansas. I have the following information so far. Florence's parents lived in Leper Township Mc Intosh Co in 1910 as they are on the census taken that year. She is on it with them. On the 1920 census they were living in Burton Township in Murry Co. She is not listed. Now for the fun part. I have and my cousin have searched Arkansas for her and have found nothing. She had a son LEO GEORGE MUMFORD on January 16,1916 and soon after that child was born she died. It was before 1920. As her husband shows up on the 1920 census with his father and his son age 3. The census was taken before his birthday in Jan of 1920. His father was listed as a widower. There may be a chance that George took Florence back to her parents when she got sick and she died and was buried there. I figure she died between 1917 and 1919. We have Family buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Mc Intosh Co but she is not listed. Can someone do a lookup for me in Murry Co for Oaklawn Cemetery and see by chance if she is buried there. Her Mother , Joanna Catherine Carr/Price , Brother George James Price and other family members are buried there. Her father DENNIS TRAMMEL PRICE is buried in Colorado with other family members. She is not in that cemetery. By chance she may be too. Thank you for you help and letting me post this. Thank You Karen Price- Pfister searching, PRICE, CARR, MARTIN, BAKER

After receiving a warning earlier , I ran my Norton live update and then ran a full virus scan. NONE were found. I admit it was mostly a precaution. My understanding is that virus can not come through on a rootsweb list, however, I could see that someone might get email addresses from people posting to the list and send something directly that was set up to superficially look like it came from the list. So thanks Rusty. ron At 08:04 PM 12/31/2000 EST, you wrote: >There is no chance of acquiring a virus from the choctaw-web site; the virus >--- which several people have said does not appear on their anti-virus scans, >--could be a hoax or activated by replying to email or opening an attachment >that says: "The Real Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" sent by SexNFun. I've been receiving these for about 3 weeks, but this was the first time I've been able to pinpoint where it was coming from - good thing email is slow today. See http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w95.hybris.gen.html for information on what to do and you will probably want to update your virus software and contact others that you email frequently, especially those that are new to computers. Please read these instructions and vote for the Choctaw-Web as best website by Nov. 30. thanks, rusty lang, web administrator http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson Which Site Is the "Best Genealogy Site on the Web"? Who has the best genealogy-related World Wide Web site? Do you have an opinion? If so, you can make your opinion heard in the fourth annual "Best Genealogy Site on the World Wide Web" award. You have the opportunity to honor a genealogy Web site with a "Readers' Choice Award" to be issued by this newsletter. The readers of this newsletter will pick the site to be named "Best Genealogy Site on the World Wide Web." This will be the fourth year that the readers of this newsletter have conferred such an award. I won't mention who won the award previously, as I don't want to influence this year's nominations. However, I will mention them again at the end of this year's elections. What guidelines are used to define the "Best Genealogy Site on the World Wide Web"? That is strictly up to you. You can nominate a site because it is interesting, because it has nice graphics, because it has excellent maps, or because it is full of valuable genealogy reference materials. I would suggest that you nominate a site because it is the one genealogy Web site you go back to and visit time and time again. However, even that guideline is optional. The choice is yours to make. When you cast your vote, you might write a couple of sentences about why you think this site is best, although that description is not absolutely required. I have set up an "electronic voting machine" that you can use to cast a vote for this "Best of the Web" award. I have great confidence in this voting machine; Florida residents will not have to conduct a recount! You can vote at any time from now until midnight Eastern Time on 30 November 2000. The voting machine will then tabulate the results. I will announce the winner in the December 2 newsletter. The winning World Wide Web site will then be allowed to mention the award on its Web site. That Web site also will be entitled to all the fame and notoriety that is included with this "Online Genealogy Newsletter's Readers' Choice Award." Enough said! To cast your vote, you must follow these instructions EXACTLY. A computer is tabulating the results, not a human being. Computers are not very good at interpreting what you meant to say; you have to be precise when talking to a computer. You must enter your vote in exactly the proper format. To cast a vote for "Best Genealogy Site on the World Wide Web," send an e-mail to: [email protected] The subject of the message must contain the full Web site address and nothing else. For instance, the message subject might be: http://www.rootscomputing.com p The message subject (some e-mail programs will say "Message Title" instead of "subject") MUST start with: (IF CHOCTAW-WEB IS YOUR FAVORITE, IT WOULD BE:) http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson Please list the exact address in the message subject, but do not add any other words. Do not say, "My vote is . . ." or anything like that in the subject; simply list the actual URL beginning with the letters http://. None of the following three examples will work: www.xyz.com My vote is for www.xyz.com My favorite Web site is xyz.com None of the three previous examples begin with http://, and therefore the computer program that tabulates the vote will ignore them. If you send your vote properly, you will receive a reply acknowledging the receipt of your nomination. You are encouraged to tell why you think your favorite site deserves such an award. You can do so by writing comments in the body of the e-mail. The automatic vote tally software will ignore the body text. However, once the votes are tallied, a human will read all the messages that nominated the winning site and will look for any comments about that site. Some of those comments may be published in the December 2 newsletter. By writing text in the message body, you are giving permission to reprint your name and comments in this newsletter. If you do not want your words or name published, please do not write anything in the message body. IAll votes must be received on or before 30 November 2000. You must send your vote to: [email protected] The message subject line must contain the Web site's complete address (URL) and must start with: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson OK, which site is the "Best Genealogy Site on the Web"? Your vote counts.

They were taken at a time when the territory was being influxed by immigraants from all over the world. Find out which ones and where they settled. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson/genealogy_7.htm <A HREF="http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson/genealogy_7.htm">Click here: GENEALOGY 7 </A> Words of Wisdom: Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart. I found an inspiring piece by Shawnee chief Tecumseh and want to share it with you. They are Pickin cotton, Raccoon Dance, Dinner on the Ground and First Day at School. <A HREF="http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson/norma_howard.htm">Click here: NORMA HOWARD </A> http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~impson/norma_howard.htm New ancestor found: We discovered a new and interesting branch on the Impson-Choctaw tree. Sam, William A. Cobb came from Mississippi and grandson Lewis W. was born in Indian Territory. He married Harriet Impson and they adopted many children, including Lomans. William and Lewis were both preachers and were featured in early day Chronicles of Oklahoma. If you can add to this information, please email me as I would love to add their genealogies to my site.
