    1. Searching for BAILEY/BROWN/WATSON/BECK
    2. Robin Bailey
    3. I am researching the BAILEY, BROWN, WATSON and BECK families from McIntosh County, Oklahoma. Isaac Bailey is buried in New Melette Cemetery in this county. He was married twice -- Delilia Jane Manard (MAYNARD) in 1870 in Pope County, Arkansas. They had 10 children together. Delilia supposedly lived to be 101 years old. They got divorced and then Isaac married Katherine {Katy) Barlett and they had six children together. A couple of Isaac's kids are buried in the Greenwood cemetery in Eufaula, Oklahoma. I know they must still have family in the area because their headstone flowers were new when we visited last summer. Unfortunately Bailey is a common name. I am also researching the Woodrow Brown family of McAlester. This was my mother-in-law's birth grandfather. He is Choctaw Indian. His family still lives in the McAlester area. They did not know about the birth of my mother-in-law. She was born before Woodrow married another woman. Her mother was Margaret Lucille Beck. She was only 16 when she had my mother-in-law. The families didn't want them (back in 1933) to associate with each other. It's too sad, my mother-in-law was a wonderful woman and Woodrow's family would have been lucky to have known her. I am researching the WATSON/BURGIN family. Apparently the BURGIN side owned a business or two in the Eufaula area. I think one BURGIN owned a photography studio, but I have proven it yet. I have some great pictures of my husband grandmother, Bertha Watson when she was about five years old with her mother and sister and brother. We believe it was an uncle's photo studio that the photo was taken. If anyone ties into these lines, please give me a holler. I understand that William moved to Eufala OK, where he died about 1935. Did Polly go to OK with him? They may have had at least one son and two daughters, but I know nothing more about children. Does anyone recognize this family? William is brother to my great-grandfather, Lee Davis Love. Judy Germann

    3. Dick, Families or individuals who moved during the time the census was being taken were sometimes missed or even counted in two different locations. It didn't happen often, but it has been known to happen. I did the index and transcription, and I wouldn't swear that there aren't mistakes in them. If I were you I'd find a copy of the 1920 soundex and check to see if John Henry and Bertha appear there. If it turns out that I missed them in McIntosh County please let me know. I'll be happy to make any needed corrections. Ron Long > Hello to all. My grandparents (John Henry and Bertha Stephens) settled in > McIntosh County about 1905. They appear in the 1910 census. 3. Hello to all. My grandparents (John Henry and Bertha Stephens) settled in McIntosh County about 1905. They appear in the 1910 census. In 1924 the remaining family members left for Oregon. They were in Lenna in 1916 and apparently in Stidham in 1924. I cannot find them anywhere on the 1920 McIntosh Co. census, either in the images or in the excellent index. There is no indication they had actually left the county for any reason. So, my question is--how common is it for someone's entire family to be missed in the index? Is there a problem with missing people in this index? Thanks Dick Stephens
