    3. SueAnn, Oklahoma did not exist as a state until 1907, so no vital records until after that time. Even then, compliance was spotty. However, your uncle probably got a delay birth certificate when he was an adult. Most adults did. (Even my ggrandmother, who was born in IT in 1888 had a delayed birth certificate.) If you know his birth date, you should be able to order a copy of his delayed birth certificate from the Oklahoma vital records. If you don't know his birth date, you might try searching online for your uncle in the Social Security Death Index. It is available online through several sites. Jackie, I am not really sure of dates of birth but have listed the dates as we believe to be close Nancy Elizabeth Benefield (my grandmother) was born for sure on June 28, 1885 in Winston County Alabama. Her mother died in childbirth and her father was killed 2 years later. neither of their first names are known. Her grandparents were Andrew M. Wood (Woods) and Nancy Wood (Woods) they were possibly born in Georgia. His dob was May 1845 and Nancy's was Sept 1840. They moved to McIntosh County Oklahoma (around Eufala Ok) in 1893 taking their children Martin, Mandy,and Martha and their grand daughter Nancy Elizabeth Benefield. Nancy Elzabeth Benefield later married Orville Austin Brill in Eufala in March of 1909. I have found the marriage license ut have not been able to go any farther. Andrew Wood died in 1926 and Nancy Wood in 1927. If you can find any info I will really appreciate it as we have no knowledge of her mother or fathers names or any info as to family names, etc. Thank you so much for writing me

Their children included Martin Wood, and daughters Mandy and Martha Wood that married James Cantrell and Sherman Cantrell in McIntosh County. I am looking for any descendants of this family. My grandmother was Nancy Elizabeth Benefield that was a granddaoughter of Andrew and Nancy.
