Vester Holmes, 70, Broken Bow passed away Friday Jan 7, 2005 at Texarkana, TX. He was born to Elige & Clara Boone Holmes on Feb 16, 1934. Vester retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1997 where he had been a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. He had lived in Broken Bow for the last 51 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marvin Holmes and Elmer Holmes; and one great-grandson, John Allen Coffey. Vester is survived by his wife, Patsy, of the home; his son and daughter in law Frankie & Kathy Holmes, Durant; four brothers, Harmon Holmes, Flagstaff, AZ, Ora Holmes, Frediona, AZ, Robert Holmes, Pickens, and Silas Holmes of Broken Bow; three sisters, Lillie Garner, Pasco, WA, Viola Stovall, Herford, TX and Lorene Rhodes, Osage Beach, MO; three granddaughters, Amanda Coffey, Hurst, TX and Shonda Holmes and Andria Holmes, both of Durant; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan 10, 2005 at the Conley-White Chapel, Broken Bow with Rev James Davis and Rev Dean Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow. The family will receive visitors from 3 to 4:00 p.m. Jan 9, 2005 at the Conley-White Chapel in Broken Bow.
