Deputies are fluid, and seem to change from one administration to another ... whether by politics, cronyism, or simply end of career. During the time period of which you are interested, the matter is further challenged by the number of "Constables" working under the authority of the Sheriff's Office. Smaller towns and communities, that did not have sufficient size to warrant (by charter or current law) to have a police department, often elected "Constables" that were the "police" for that community, but took their authority as law enforcement officers from the Sheriff's Office. Finally, the court records for this area (which would contain police reports and such) prior to 1991-1992 were all boxed up and placed in a county storage facility about 1992 or 1993. They were not (and have not since been) copied onto computer files. If I turn something up, I will of course make a posting here.
