I have a story from the Haskell County Indian Territory to 1988 book that mentions the first Sappington family that came to Haskell County was Wesley Winfield Sappington and his wife Zilla. I also have Sappington's in my Lane family line but couple cousins away from myself. The article is F586 pages 501-587 (very long articles). Miles Welcome Sappington, Charley, Bane and Mary. Who is the Sappington Family that your grandad was seeing? There is another aritcle that mentions Ethel Gifford married Irvin Reid. Doesn't say anymore about her. He used to make trips to Idabel to visit his relatives and the only names I know would be Gifford, Sappington, Wooster, and possibly Woods or Woodson. Miles had a brother named William "Mack" who had kids living there I think, maybe a Marvin or Melvin Gifford. I would like to hear from anyone who knew these people.
