Posted on: McCurtain County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/McCurtain/1309 Surname: french, bailey ------------------------- I am currently trying to locate family members on my husband's side of the family. His mother's name was Clydene Bailey. Her father's name was Henry Bailey and her mother's name was Susie French. On the French side they were of African-American and Choctaw decendency and on the Bailey side they were African-American and Blackfoot decendency. They resided in Tom or Tom's Wood Oklahoma which is east of Idabel Oklahoma. I have only begun this effort to trace the family geneology so I don't have much more information than that. It would be a big surprise if we could help each other...I did notice the French and Bailey names in your posting.....but the other name that rang a bell was Pitchlynn. I noticed this name while reviewing some of the Choctaw records and the Dawes Roll...I don't know if that helps you but it is interesting. Do you know if Peter Pitchlynn was Anglo or Native American?
