If someone was visiting family in Lamar Co., TX about 1887, what route would they have most likely taken to return to Hempstead and or Sevier Counties in AR? (It is unknown as to what time of year) In about 1887 Rebecca Denton Pettus was returning home to Arkansas after a visit and was thrown out of her wagon and killed during a stampede of wild horses.
