Here is the obit for Ruth Lewis Idabel resident Ruth Alice Lewis, 65 passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. She was born May 16, 1938 in the Goodland community, the daughter of Elisman Noah and Rena Mae Thomas. Lewis worked for Poulan in DeQueen, AR. She was a lifetime resident of the community, and was very active in her church. She attended Goodland Methodist Church. She loved listening to gospel music. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2004 at Jim Norwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Goodland Cemetery, Holly Creek community. The Rev. Troy Ruffin and Frank Nahwooksy will officiate. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her mother, Rena Noah; two sons, Robert Lewis, Holly Creek and Roger Lewis, Valliant; five daughters, Brenda Smith and Viola Perrin, both of Idabel, Lillian Gross and Ruby McDonald, both of Wright City, and Wendy Rawls, Haworth; one brother, Frank Noah, Cushing, one sister, Rebecca (Hattie) Nahwooksy, Wright City and 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Jim Norwood Funeral Home, Idabel.
