Posted on: McCurtain County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/McCurtain/1126 Surname: BROWN, PITCHLYNN, SMITH, TOLLETT, FOLSOM ------------------------- I'm totally lost as to which direction to go in . My gggg-grandmother , MARGARET " PEGGY" PITCHLYNN b. Abt. 1815 Choctaw Co., MS md. JAMES ROWLAND BROWN . Their children ; NANCY ANN BROWN ( my ggg-grandmother md. CORNELIUS SMITH -TX , THOMAS PITCHLYNN BROWN , DAVID TOLLETT BROWN md. MARY JANE FERGUSON-TX. , MARGARET C.,MARY J. , CAROLINE SARAH ( may have married a BENJAMIN SMITH -TX), JAMES H.. They are on the 1850 Sevier Co., Arkansas census but moved to Texas rigt after . Some of the Brown's stayed in Ark. I was first told that the parents of Margaret " Peggy " PITCHLYNN were THOMAS PITCHLYNN and UNK. wife and her grandfather was Chieftan Chafutaya & unknown wife who had supposedly taken the name " JOHN PITCHLYNN " because he admired Major John Pitchlynn so much . Then I recieved information that this was wrong and her parents were " JOHN " JACK " PITCHLYNN JR. & UNK.wife . I understand her mother was a Choctaw Indian . I would really like to find the truth no matter which it may be . If anyone can and is willing to help me with this I would greatly appreciate it . I will be very happy to share .
