(BUD)2 DOWNS (JAMES T.1) was born December 24, 1874 in Hempstead County, AR, and died September 26, 1926 in McCurtain County, OK. He married LUCY ELLEN HUCKABEE October 10, 1898 in Hempstead County, AR, daughter of JOHN HUCKABEE and MARTHA POWELL. She was born April 1882 in Hempstead County, AR, and died May 26, 1958 in Isabel, McCurtain County, OK. Notes for LUCY ELLEN HUCKABEE: Lucy's birth is recorded as April 1882 in the Hempstead County Springhill Twp. 1900 Census. It is also given as May 10, 1881 in Idabel, OK Funeral Home Record. Her obituary (1958) states "...she had resided in Idabel for the past 40 years", suggesting that she and Lorenzo and at least some of their family had moved to Idabel about 1918. 1900 Census records Elizabeth Powell, [Lucy's] grandmother, living in the Downs household. August 14, 1903, Hempstead County, AR; d. December 27, 1955, McCurtain County, OK; m. ETHEL COOKE, September 19, 1925, Pollard, Mccurtain County, OK; b. 1906. Notes for CLAUDE E. DOWNS: Claude Downs of Shawneetown, Mccurtain County, OK and Ethel Cooke were married by J.L.Cooke, MG of Pollard, McCurtain County, OK, 19 Sep 1925. They were married in the home of J.L. Cooke. He married (1) NELLIE MARIE KING November 25, 1931 in Idabel, McCurtain County, OK. She was born December 08, 1911, and died August 19, 1965 in McCurtain County, OK.
