Hi, Here is the Phillips family that I am researching Robert Phillips born 1849 in Alabama married Sarah "Sally" J. Mitchell born 1855 Mississippi. They are listed on the Red River county Texas 1880 census. Living next door to them is John William New born 1848 Carroll County Missouri( Sally's second husband) Sometime after 1880 Robert Phillips was ill and the story from researchers is that Sally loaded the family in a wagon and took Robert Phillips to Hot Springs Arkansas to be treated. He got better and they came home and then left again on the way there the second time he dies and was buried either along the way or in Hot Springs Arkansas. Sometime after that Sally married John William New and had two children, Maud Malinda New and John Henry "Jack" New John William New went missing the story with him was he took the ferry from Oklahoma into Texas and was never seen again. Sally then married Martin Van Buren Singleton. The children she had with Robert Phillips are Claud married Effie ? Tobias P. "Tobey" married Annie Wilson Mitchell married Hattie Presley Pulte Glenda Dora married James T. Jones John married ? Ollie married Bill Wilson Charley F. married Sissie first then second Minnie Jennings The families settled around Redland, Ok outside of Idabel. That is where most of them are buried also. I would like to connect with any of the above families to share information and pictures with. Thanks Tawsha

Eliza Jane Phillips & George W Blocker are the grandparents of Dan Blocker the actor. I'm not related to this Phillips family, but I have a chart that takes this Phillips family back to Union County SC. Gene Phillips
Who is it your looking for?
Hi, Is anyone researching this family? Another researcher sent me this information. I am trying to see if this family is connected to the Robert Phillips that was born in 1848 in Alabama, (His children and wife Sally settled in Redland.) The family below knew the Robert Phillips family that lived outside of Idabel, Oklahoma at Redland. "They came from South Carolina and Calhoun County, Alabama. Isaac Newton Phillips - head of household Mary Elizabeth Phillips - wife Hosea Ross Phillips - son Newton Reed Phillips -son Eliza Jane Phillips - daughter Hosea Ross Phillips married Narcissus Woodward Newton Phillips, my grandfather, married Lena (Mapp) Phillips. Lena's family was the Mapps. The Mapps lived in DeKalb, Texas at the time. Newton and Lena lost a boy and a girl to what I think was SIDS but we will never know. Earl C. Phillips, my father, was born in 1892. Burl H. Phillips, my uncle, was born in 1894 Esta Phillips, my aunt, was born in 1901 Newton and Lena were divorced in 1904. Newton remained at the home in New Boston, Texas and Lena went to the Idabel area. One of my older brothers told me about Lena living next to the family of Tobias Phillips at that time. Uncle Burl apparently visited Lena at her place in Idabel from 1904 to 1912.We knew very little about any of the family because of the split-up but we're digging. Lena passed away from Typhoid in 1912 and Newton died from unknown causes the same year. Isaac Newton passed away in 1914 and his wife passed away soon afterward. Eliza Jane Phillips married G.W. Blocker. They settled in Oak Grove, Texas." Thank you tawsha hubbard

Your John could have been named for my John. Hmmmm. Where could I get a copy of John's obituary? Have you ever heard of a Sarah Clouse who married a John Logan? She was the one I'm trying to figure out from Arkansas. That would probably have been in the 1800s. Squire married Christina Logan in 1890 in Greene Co. MO. The only official record I have ever found of him. Later!

I also have no clue why Squire was in Wright City. There may have been other relatives there. My Squire had a son named John Clouse who was buried in Carter Co. MO probably in the late 50s or early 60s. Do you know anything about T. L.'s ancestors? Or could you put me in touch with someone who does? Thanks!

Do you know what the initials stand for? What was his time period? My Clouses that I definitely know about so far in Oklahoma were in the McAllister area, but that doesn't mean that we have no connection. That isn't that far away. There is a chance that I may also be descended from two Clouse lines. I found a possible connection with a someone in Oklahoma from Arkansas. I'm still looking for where Squire Louis died. Probably after 1930. He was my great-grandfather. Were Ona and Opal twins by chance? We have twins in our line. Thanks, Barbara
