    1. Re: [OKMCCURT] Three Corners Cemetery
    2. You may be right about Denison cemetery. That intersection used to be a three way corner, or a y as we called it. The people being looked for may not have a headstone, BUT, the care taker has a list of everyone buried there. I know because I had forgotten where my grandmothers grave was, and I went to the caretakers building at the cemetery, and he dragged out a book with all names listed. Don't know how far back the records go tho. It would be worth an envelope and a stamp , if you could find out who to write to. Leslie

I'm interested in a family that was there around 1915-1925. Charles LEWIS b 31 Aug 1888 TN, d 22 Apr 1933 NM. He md Katie Elizabeth HENDRICKS (no date or place). Katie was born in Sevier Co AR 9 May 1894, d 26 Nov 1984 CA. Their first child, Pauline, was born 1 Nov 1915 possibly in Eagletown. Next child, Fred, b 17 Feb 1919 Antlers; Roy Earl b 12 Dec 1920 Eagletown; Imma Lee b 24 Aug 1922 OK; John Winfred b 1 Jul 1924 Eagletown; and last William R "Ty" b abt 1930. Charles is said to have worked in the woods and died from an infection he sustained from that work. It is possible that his body may have been sent back to McCurtain Co for burial, as he had only been in NM (where he died) a few days. Can you suggest any resources available in McCurtain Co based on this information? Nancy Waite [email protected]

And I did talk to all the funeral directors and anyone else who had been here a long time and no one knew anything about it..But we talked to the local historian [which I had ask about it before & he didn't recall the name] and he said he had remembered that the Denison Cemetery was at one time a cemetery used by primaryly by the John Denison family and they called "THREE CORNERS" because of the location..It is located on East Washington St. But I checked the listing in the cemetery files for Denison Cemetery & there wasn't a THIGPEN but it's possible they didn't have a stone..

    2. Ola M Trout
    3. Rebecca, I think the only funeral home in McCurtain Co. in the 1934, would have been Coffey Funeral Home, of Idabel, Okla. From an obituary I found where they handled a funeral of my g-uncle in 1934. There records burned some time in the 1950's. Also on the funeral home in Antlers, The funeral home there now is Mills-Coffey Funeral Home Ph. # is 580-298-3348. It's the only funeral home there. (I think). They could have a record of your g-grandmother. As I got a record from them that took place in 1947. Good luck. They have a list of obits posted there and you may be able to see which funeral home was used around the time you mentioned, then you could see if they are still in business. I have a McCurtain County Phone directory from January 1994 and will be glad to check for an address or number for you. Lou Ann gary wade wrote: > > My ggrandfather died in Broken Bow in 1934.
