Hi Betty, I wonder if you could do a look up for me for a death in Idabel or Lukfata, McCurtain Co., OK for Edrus HUDSON who died 13 September 1907. She was just 9 months old. She was my mother's older sister. We are trying to locate where she was buried and any other information that an obituary might contain. Thanks very much for your time and effort in doing a look-up. I very much appreciate your help. Lonna, Benjamin Barrow's was b. June 14,1862 in Jackson Parish, LA. He m. Minerva Elizabeth Farris in Madisonville, TX in 1884. Ben is the son of Green Barrow and Elizabeth Killingsworth. I have just recently been given this info on the Barrow name as a possible connection to my Farris line. Trying to connect Minerva and my James Webster Farris as siblings. Sandy in Oregon
Hi Sandy, I wonder if you could elaborate on your inquiry about the Benjamin BARROW you listed in the inquiry below? My mother was born in Lukfata, McCurtain Co., OK. Her family, including her grandparents and parents moved to Idabel, McCurtain Co., OK from Oregon Co., MO about 1902. They owned and ran a livery/feed store business in Idabel until 1914. They also owned a couple of farms in nearby Lukfata. My g-grandparents were John William WHEELER and Misinair N. BROWN. My grandparents were Samuel Pleasant (Pleas) HUDSON and Rachel Alice WHEELER. John William WHEELER'S oldest sister, Adelaide WHEELER, married William W. BARROW in Dent Co., MO in Sept. 1882. The BARROW family probably lived somewhere in Arkansas and in the Dallas, TX area before 1905. They had three children. A daughter, Lanta Tanahill BARROW (b 1883 Dent Co., MO) who married George W. SHOOK in Dent Co., MO after 1909 and moved to Beaver, Beaver Co., OK about 1926. She is buried in Beaver, OK. The middle child, a son, Elba D. BARROW (b Sept. 1885, AR) is mentioned in correspondence between his sister and my grandmother. Elba was in Vinita, OK in 1909 as well as about 250 miles further south, working as a farm laborer. He became a master mechanic and died in Kansas City, KS in 1942. He married Mary G. CRIMMINS. The youngest son, Edo BARROW (b about 1886) apparently served with the cavalry at Ft. Sill, OK. It is thought he died and is buried near there, but we have not been able to prove this. I don't know if he ever married. He as in Dent Co., MO in 1909. I have information about William W. BARROW'S parents and siblings and although there is no Benjamin BARROW in my database, I thought it was worth a follow up inquiry as Benjamin BARROW was in McCurtain Co., OK at the same time my family was there. I look forward to hearing from you.
