    3. Posted on: McCurtain County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/McCurtain/11379 Surname: Nelson ------------------------- Dear Cousin Liz, Hello my name is Chris Nelson I live in Louisiana, I'm so happy to finally meet someone from this line. Your husband James's father David Benjamin Nelson and my great grandfather Charles A. Nelson are 1/2 brothers through their father Hugh Lawson Nelson. I've been trying for almost a year to reach someone from your family. I found David's name in findagrave.com and left a message and flowers. We didn't know anything at all about the family except for Charles, his wife Mayme and their son Clyde who is my grandfather, Until I started our family tree and have found so many it's unbelieveable. But my grandmother was a bitter woman and didn't tell my father hardly anything about his fathers side of the family and he was in the service and didn't take the time to find any of them till he married my mother who comes from a large family but by then it was to late everyone had died. I acquired from oklahoma Hugh's obit which helped me greatly in my search for family, and I would like for you to e-mail me so that I could get some information from you Birthdates, Names, and so forth. I have to go for now but Please get intouch with me soon. Chris Nelson

    1. [OKMCCURT] 1880 Census
    2. Hi, does anyone have access to the 1880 census of Hot Springs Co., AR? I'm looking for J. Elmo Young and his brother Robert J. Young (my g grandfather). Robert was born in 1879 and married Nella Elizabeth Harris who was born in 1883 in Tom, McCurtain, OK. I'm trying to find their parents and haven't had any luck in doing so. I do know that these two brothers owned a store together in Malvern, Hot Springs, AR and that Robert was given $1000.00 dollars by his brother because he wanted out of the business. He then went to Tom, McCurtain, OK where he married my g grandmother who was part Choctaw Indian. Can anyone help? My cousin in Foreman, AR told me to look in Malvern for info so I'm asking for any kind of help or info I can get on his parents and other possible siblings. If anyone can help me with this or has any info on this family, it would be very appreciated. Thanks. Jeniffer Florreich Anderson, CA

    3. Posted on: McCurtain County, Ok Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/McCurtain/11369 Surname: MACK ------------------------- I am seeking to discover who is buried in the old Waterhole Cemetery in Garvin. My husband's great grandfather was a young boy (story has it) with a sister whose Indian parents were killed in the Garvin area. His parents hid the children in some corn stalks. Later, a wagon train came through, discovered the children and brought them to Daisy Arkansas. The settlers' last name was Mack. We have no idea what the Indian name may have been. I have visited the cemetery there, jotted down some of the names on the gravestones. None of the names rang bells with us. We thought perhaps there may be a story linked up with someone else in the area that may be similar to this. Can you help me?
