Jerilyn, I don't have anything on your Mahlon Dye, but am researching the Dye family. I see by you tagline that you have Dyes back to the early 1800's in Ohio. I am looking for 2 different Dyes (who may or may not be sisters): The first is ? Dye m. John Kimler 1784 Virignia The 2nd is Philena Dye m. Benjamin Cox. She died in 1827, BLooning Grove, McLean Co, IL. Benjamin died 1825 in Walnut Twp, Pickaway Co, OH. Philena moved to the land in Illinois that Benjamin had gone out in 1825 and had purchased. He died upon returning to Ohio to take his family out to Illinois. Philena Dye Cox' daughter Mary Cox m. ? Dye Kimler's son John Kimler, Jr. It is said they were cousins. John Jr. (who lived in Indiana) helped Philena move to Illinois and farmed for her. Then he married her daughter. Oh, I have a third Dye: Jackson Dye (John Dye and Sarah Guin?) m. Emeline Shears 1852; m. Elmira J. Brink 1859; Susannah Carter 1862 Gentry Co, MO; and m.Ida S. Beirns 1901, Mt. Ayer, IA. Jackson died in 1909 in El Reno, Canadian Co, Oklahoma, but is buried in Isadora Cemetary, Worth Co, MO, with Susannah Carter. He was in the Co C, 18th Missouri Cavalry. He was b. in 1830 in Green Co, Pennsylvania. I don't know when and why he went to Oklahoma. In 1900, he is on the Missouri Census in Worth Co.; however, that is the year the Susannah died. At least two of his children died in Oklahoma, so that may be why Jackson was in Oklahoma. Jackson had a brother named Jasper. Here is his family: Descendants of Jackson Dye 1 Jackson Dye b: Dec 30, 1830 Green Co, Pennsylvania d: Aug 10, 1909 El Reno, Canadian Co, Oklahoma Burial: Isadora Cemetary, Worth Co, Missouri - +Emeline Shears d: Deceased m: Oct 07, 1852 *2nd Wife of Jackson Dye: - +Elmira J. I am related to his wife Susannah Carter. Ellen Jlktrees@aol.com wrote: > Looking for descendants of Mahlon Dye, who is buried at Isabella. He died > August 29, 1927. His wife was Sarah E. States.
