    3. Lilac, Concerning your search for the parents of Clara M. Woods, born in Garber, November 21, 1899: If you are looking for the 1900 census, then Garber is now and was in 1899 located in Garfield County. If you are "simply" looking for Clara Malissa Woods' parents, then her obituary should have her parents' names, and probably easier to find is her death certificate, assuming that Oklahoma does not restrict that late of death certificates to next of kin. Suggest three routes, (1) go to Oklahoma on the usgenweb page: http://www.usgenweb.com and look for information about obtaining death certificates in Oklahoma. 2. Continue on the usgenweb site and check out Major County records. 3. Since you know Clara's death date, you may know where she is buried. If died and/or buried in the Fairview area of Major County, perhaps the Fairview Republican would have published an obituary, and perhaps, with the specific date given, somebody at the Fairview Republican newspaper could check for an obituary for you. FLASH! It always pays to look at one's own sources first. I just checked the Major County History book, "Gloss Mountain Country, a History of Major County", produced by Major County Historical Society, 1977, on pages 355-356 on the Ireland (Ira) and Nancy Woods family, a family story submitted by Frances Crawford Vickers. Briefly, Ireland B. Woods was born August 12, 1870, in Gibson County, Indiana. (More info on his ancestry is provided). His wife, Nancy Draper was born Dec. 19, 1879, Boon County, Iowa. (More info on her ancestry is provided). They were married January 7, 1894 (no information as to location), "and homesteaded near Garber, Okla." .. Clara was born November 21, 1899". From another paragraph it appears that this Woods family moved to Caddo County, Oklahoma, about 1900 or 1901, where Clara married Earl Crawford in 1921 (no indication of the County, but apparently Caddo County, Oklahoma). Ira died March 27, 1923... and sometime later his wife and remaining family moved to Fairview (Major County). A picture is provided with the article that shows, "Nancy Woods Page, Clara Crawford, Francs and Sandra Vickers with Harley and Craig Vickers, 1950". Email me personally if you wish more information from this article. (Wish all searches would be this easy...., but note that all the information given is above is,at best, tertiary source information. It's best to go to the original records.) Hope this helps. Best Wishes.
