The county seat is Cherokee, OK. I don't know who their funeral homes were. You might check their website for a Genealogy Society. Between 1893 (when the Cherokee Strip opened for settlement) and 1907, Woods, Alfalfa, and Major Co. were all Woods Co. In Nov. 1907 when Oklahoma became a state, the 3 counties were formed from Woods Co. That is why they lived in different NAMED counties but probably never moved. Alfalfa Co. borders Major Co. to the north so I am not suprised as they lived in Major Co. close to the county line but were buried in Alfalfa Co. It is common. Pat Weaver, Major Co.
