His obit states that at the opening of the Cherokee Strip he made the ran and homesteaded a farm near Blackwell. After his first wife passed away he married my grandmother Fonda Young and moved to Fairview, this was about 1903. He bought a business there. I believe a rooming house. In the early 40'2 he was was a part time deputy sheriff and constable. His
