    1. [OKMAJOR] Wahl/Wall family, Major County, OK

    3. Linda, I checked the 1977 History of Major County, OK, "Gloss Mountain Country" for your Walls family of Ringwood. No index, unfortunately, is available for the book. BUT, family stories are listed alphabetically. There is no listing for any Wall family. Several family stories are listed for the Wahl family, all of German descent and mostly, if not all, from the Isabella area. One mention of Edwin Gustaf Wahl, born Feb. 3, 1897, who is buried in the Isabella Cemetery. No other "Ed Wahl" is listed that could possibly be your "Ed Walls" Sorry. HOWEVER, I decided to look up the Boaz family, and there it was, "The J. P. Boaz and Edward Walls Families", on page 35. This family story was submitted by Juanita Walls Nash. Not much ancestral information, however. States that J. P. "Bud" Boaz came from Metcalf, Illinois to Oklahoma. His sister, "Lula Boaz, hoped that her health would be better in this climate and settled on the 80 acres 1/2 mile south of Ringwood. Her boyfriend, Edward Walls, didn't want her to come out here unprotected, so he was soon on the spot homesteading the quarter section across the road and 1/4 mile to the south." They were married March 31, 1896, and had five children (no dates given), Oakley, Everett "Mike", Wanda, Eldon "Bill", and Juanita "Babe". "Ed Walls built the Ford Garage in 1918" in Ringwood. "Oakley Walls was killed in World War I.....'Mike' died with appendicitis.... Wanda Walls married Forrest Scott. She resides in Enid. Eldon 'Bill' Walls is a retired postman in Kansas City. 'Babe' Walls married Roy Nash and resides near Ringwood." Consequently, if you are searching the Walls family origins, check out Metcalf, Illinois.
