    1. [OKMAJOR] Looking for reseaching decendants to return family info
    2. Because of Genealogy Shoppe, I am at times given articles that people purchase at auctions or found at homes that they have moved into...I will be sending several emails trying to get various articles back where they need to be..with the family. This packet of photos I am looking for anyone researching the Imhausen (Imhauser) family. They are taken during the WWII era...I will want to know the given name(s) that served and you are researching so I can place these with the correct descendants. If you know places stationed please include them. Thank you Kathy

    2. Bonnie M. Gilson
    3. Hi all, New to the list. With Pat Weaver's help I now know that my relative, Lorenzo GETMAN, is buried in Union cemetery. He was born Aug 8, 1836 and died April 4, 1897. Is anyone on the list familiar with this cemetery? Pat says it is "located 4 miles north of Meno, OK just NE of Fairview. It is about 1 mile south of the Alfalfa Co. line." I will be driving through Oklahoma this spring on my way to Minnesota. I would like any specific driving directions that anyone can give me to the cemetery once I get to Meno. Also can anyone give me an idea how big the cemetery is so that I can plan how long I might need there to find the grave? I once planned an afternoon at a cemetery in a very small town (fewer than 200 people) in Illinois. Turned out I needed two days there because I was unprepared to find such a huge cemetery in a very small town. Advice is appreciated :) Best wishes, Bonnie -- Bonnie (Gallagher) Gilson, Phoenix, AZ, USA mailto:bgilson@home.com http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bgilson/ ~ RootsWeb Donor ~

    1. [OKMAJOR] Fred and Mary Walker
    2. Vic Walker R.Ph., B.C.P.P.
    3. I'm trying to track information down on my great grandfather, Fred E. (or Ferdinand Eli?) Walker, and my great grandmother, Mary F. Myers Walker. I have records stating that he died in Oklahoma, and that they both lived in Cleo Springs, OK. The Cleo Springs Cemetery has records for Fred Walker, born 21 Nov 1841, died 15 Jan 1908; and Mary F. Walker, born 28 Jan 1835, died 23 Jan 1922. They had at least one son, Charles Everett Walker, my grandfather. He moved to California about 1912. The "History of Orange County, California" states that Fred was a native of Kentucky, Mary a native of Indiana, and that Fred moved from his native state (Kentucky?) to Kansas, where he was engaged in the life insurance business for many years. Does anyone have any genealogies or other information on these folks, or on the Walker family in Cleo Springs, OK? The Cleo Springs Cemetery lists the following Walkers - I suspect they may be related: Name Date of Birth Date of Death Walker, George W. 11-3-1881 6-1907 Walker, Alonzo Civil War no dates Walker, Lany B. 11-23-1880 5-29-1906 Walker, Nellie 8-21-1894 7-9-1974 Walker, Joe H. 3-23-1897 1-11-1965 Walker, Paul Dick 10-23-1919 7-8-1927 Walker, John H. 1851 1927 Walker, Fred 11-21-1841 1-15-1908 Walker, Mary F. 1-28-1835 1-23-1922 Walker, Cora H. 80 years 6-9-1933 Walker, Charles Civil War no dates I would appreciate any help any of you can give me. Thanks very much. Vic Walker -- **************************************************************************** vwalker@netcom.com Printed with 100% recycled electrons.

    2. Hi! Thanks for replying to my request. James and Mary Ann Percy are my grandparents. You probably know my cousin, Jimmy. H was for awhile, working on the Percy lineage. There is another one buried there that I would like any information available. That is Wayne Simpson, a brother t Mary Ann. I have several other family members buried in Major Co. My grandparents, Merton and La Dessie Hoyt are butied in Pleasant hill. I was pretty much raised in Major Co. We lived in Fairview-Cedar Springs-as well as in Enid. Can you tell me who and where to go to find vital records? I need a marriage record for my parents-Glen hoyt and Golda Percy-married in 1917, as well as death records for the rest of my family. What is the cost for these records? Do I need special forms or couldI just write a letter ? I hope to hear from you again soon. Thank yo for your reply. Betty Luman P.S. I now live in Hutchinson, Ks.

    3. There is a James H. Percy, b. 12/23/1868, d. 8/6/1924, buried n Glenwood Cemetery. Glenwood is located 4 miles south of Ringwood on a county maintained blacktop road. Mary Ann Percy, b. 12/9/1877, d. 8/25/1957 is also buried there. (Probably your grandmother.) I will take your request to the next genealogy meeting to see if any of the members has more information. 3. Marvin, My wife and I visited this memorial last summer; my brother's name (Vietnam) is on it, but he never lived in the Ames Community (although many of our ancestors lived there and our parents were born there. My brother does live in Major County, about 15 miles SW of Ames.) I imagine that individuals sent in their own names or those of their relatives to be listed at this memorial. Wish I could tell you more about the history, but I cannot. I know it was built at the location of a former local veteran's group building. I imagine that that Veteran's group erected the memorial. If you think, but do not know, that Ancil Bailey was a Civil War veteran, there may be records at the county level located in the county from which he served.
