    3. Jean, The 1977 History of Major County, OK, "Gloss Mountain Country", does not have an index. However, I looked through the family history sections, which are listed alphabetically and did not find a Pixler family. If your family is definitely listed in the "1909" Atlas of Woods County, then they would not be in Major County, since Major County was formed at statehood in 1907. If you are referring to the "1906" Atlas of Woods County, YES, the area that became Major County was included in Woods County. He died somewhere around 1938. Would like to know where he is buried. Also would like to know anything on either one of them. This would break the brick wall for us if anyone could help us here. 3. Sandra, You could call the Oklahoma Historical Society and with name and approximate date of death, you could probably get them to check their Cemetery listing for Blaine County, the I.O.O.F. is one of the biggest cemeteries there in Watonga, (primary other than Indian or the Cordell cemetery east of town). Just call or even mail them a request with a return envelope and they may locate the grave for you. Do you know of any connections there in Caddo county for the Nusz, Rusch, or Cordell families? 1. [OKMAJOR] Wahl/Wall family, Major County, OK
    2. J. M. Freed
    3. Linda, I checked the 1977 History of Major County, OK, "Gloss Mountain Country" for your Walls family of Ringwood. No index, unfortunately, is available for the book. BUT, family stories are listed alphabetically. There is no listing for any Wall family. Several family stories are listed for the Wahl family, all of German descent and mostly, if not all, from the Isabella area. One mention of Edwin Gustaf Wahl, born Feb. 3, 1897, who is buried in the Isabella Cemetery. No other "Ed Wahl" is listed that could possibly be your "Ed Walls" Sorry. HOWEVER, I decided to look up the Boaz family, and there it was, "The J. P. Boaz and Edward Walls Families", on page 35. This family story was submitted by Juanita Walls Nash. Not much ancestral information, however. States that J. P. "Bud" Boaz came from Metcalf, Illinois to Oklahoma. His sister, "Lula Boaz, hoped that her health would be better in this climate and settled on the 80 acres 1/2 mile south of Ringwood. Her boyfriend, Edward Walls, didn't want her to come out here unprotected, so he was soon on the spot homesteading the quarter section across the road and 1/4 mile to the south." They were married March 31, 1896, and had five children (no dates given), Oakley, Everett "Mike", Wanda, Eldon "Bill", and Juanita "Babe". "Ed Walls built the Ford Garage in 1918" in Ringwood. "Oakley Walls was killed in World War I.....'Mike' died with appendicitis.... Wanda Walls married Forrest Scott. She resides in Enid. Eldon 'Bill' Walls is a retired postman in Kansas City. 'Babe' Walls married Roy Nash and resides near Ringwood." Consequently, if you are searching the Walls family origins, check out Metcalf, Illinois. 3. The following is a wonderful tool that was shared with me by someone on another list I belong to. Street Atlas USA. It is a mapping program on CD published by Delorme, a well-known mapmaker. You can find the location of cemeteries and towns. Not only can you find names, but you can find most any physical feature. The search results give you the Latitude and Longitude of an object. I then use that Latitude and Longitude in Street Atlas to locate the cemetery. After I type the cemetery I am looking for and receive the found sites I then go to "Show Feature Location" to see the map. The Geographical Names Information System (GNIS). It was created by the US Geological Survey and is wonderful. The URL is http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html Kathleen Burnett List Mom
