    1. [OKMAJOR] From List Mom - Regarding Down Time
    2. Kathleen
    3. Dear List Members, Starting at 8 a.m. PST Friday, February 23, RootsWeb will begin a planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as possible, and will return with increased performance and reliability for future growth. The down time will be about 24 hours. If you do not receive any postings during this time do not worry, all will be back up and running soon. Your List Mom is going to take a 24 hours nap. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [OKMAJOR] From List Mom - Regarding OK-Cemeteries Volunteer and Inventory Website
    2. Kathleen
    3. Dear List Members I just received Tammie's Oklahoma Cemeteries Mailing List Homepage Update and would like to thank all those who have submitted their Inventories, photos and surveys to the Oklahoma Cemeteries Mailing List Homepage. It is because of each of you that this site is becoming the genealogical tool it is for so many researchers. I personally would also like to thank my cousin Tammie Chada for all of the time she has spent during the past 4 months developing this site. Without her devotion to this project we would not today have over 1170 pages of data to research. It is because of those like Tammie, who are so willing to give of their time and talents without asking anything in return, that many of us are able to locate the sacred grounds of our forefathers, and I for one thank her. If you have a moment, you might want to visit the Oklahoma Volunteer and Cemetery Inventory Website, I think you will be pleased. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okcemete/okcem.htm Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [OKMAJOR] 7:30 AM REPORT - FROM LIST MOM
    2. Kathleen
    3. Dear List Members: It looks like the flood will miss each of you, unless there is a second wave that I don't know about, but it hit me with full force from about 70 of my lists. I am not sure if and when it will be over but I have received and deleted hundreds and hundreds of bounced messages. I have also received more than I can count requests to be subscribed and unsubscribed. I will work my way through these. I have to check each one of them to make sure it as it should be. This will take time. Thank you. As usual, you were willing to do all that was necessary to help make this list run smoothly. Your many messages of support touched me and gave me strength to deal with this mess on my side. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    3. There has been a major problem with certain lists on Rootsweb since last Friday. I am not sure how this list is going to be effected by the crashed server at Rootsweb, you were not one directly effected. The server is up and running again and I have a favor to ask each of you. If you begin receiving a large amount of messages that have backed up in the system since last Friday. Please be understanding, USE YOUR DELETE KEY, yelling and screaming will not stop it. I am holding on for dear life. I will have messages coming to me from 171 mailing lists hitting me all at once along with bouncing messages and messages from those of you asking for help. Together we will get through this and look back on this day as the "Day of the Rootsweb Flood", and laugh. If you have asked to be unsubscribed, that request was most likely never received. Please understand that even if I unsubscribe you now, I cannot stop what you are going to receive. If the lists do not look the same, meaning the headers are gone. I will bo back and take care of that when this flood is over. Good luck and I look forward to getting back to normal when the sun is again shinning. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [OKMAJOR] PLEASE FORGIVE - FROM LIST MOM
    2. Kathleen
    3. Please forgive. My system went crazy and it sent out duplications of each message to several of the mailing lists. I am almost afraid to send out an apologize and have it just do the same thing again. :( I sat here and watched it happened and did not know what to do to stop it. Talk about feeling out of control. 3. As you can see, the lists are getting busier now that the holidays are over. Just a few suggestions to make them smoother. If you see a posting come across the list asking to be unsubscribed or asking for help in any area that I deal with, know that I am taking care of it behind the scenes and you don't need to worry about it. If you post a query, try to put the surname in the subject line in CAPS and add dates if possible. Just keep in mind, we do have list members who delete the postings by only reading what is in the subject line, and never reading the body of the message. If you have a problem with a posting, meaning you think it should not have been posted. Please do not send your remarks to the entire list. Let me know your concerns and I will take care of it if I have not already. If you need me, to help you in anyway, you can reach me at kburnet@efortress.com I thank each of you for your continued support of this list and your willingness to help one another. I continually am in awe of the generosity of genealogical researchers. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [OKMAJOR] One or Two little Kellett Graves lost in Time
    2. Kathleen
    3. We have been trying for years to find the burial spots of two little baby boys, (twins). They were born in 1899 and died within a few days of their birth. It is said in the family that they were buried in Oklahoma, no county is known and it also said that a marked stone was place on their grave or graves before the family moved on with the last name of KELLETT on it. The only sister of these two little ones, a cousin of mine, died before she could locate these graves. I have taken up the torch. If you have seen such a grave I would love to hear from you. 1. [OKMAJOR] BOAZ/COURTNEY/GORDON
    2. Jackie Ojers
    3. (Joe, just thought you might have some input.) CAN ANYONE HELP ANSWER SOME OF THE PUZZLE BELOW?? Hi, I found another Courtney/Boaz connection. Eugenia Courtney married John William Boaz, 9-12-1878, in Gallatin Co., KY. Duncan and Mary Courtney were parents of Presley. On the1870 Gallatin Co., KY. census it shows a Eugenia E. age 7, living with Duncan & Mary, also a John W. age 6. Duncan and Mary are both 62. So I wonder if these are grandchildren or neice and nephew? Presley was 31 in 1870. They can't be the same Eugenia's , if she was age 7 in 1870 and married Boaz in 1878. Now wondering if John W. was Presley's bro. or not. i was told he was. In picture of them on porch John w. does look a lot younger than Presley. Mary would have been 56 when she had him.??? Also on a KY marriages list it shows Mary Ann Courtney marrying a John W. Boaz on Dec. 24, 1861. I wonder when the relatives gave me John T. Boaz, it should have been John W. Boaz.? My Mary Ann was born 1841, so she would have been 20 which works. Wonder if these are the same John W, Boaz, for mary ann and eugenia?? KY. marriages also show Amanda Jane Courtney (another dau. of Duncan and Mary) m. James C. Gardner, 1-11-1866. But his name is Gordon, or it was when he was in Ringwood, OK> i see I need to do some digging and order some census for Ringwood and Gallatin Co. JACKIE O.

    2. Jackie Ojers
    3. I'm new sorry I forgot to capitalize surnames, but the names are BOAZ, COURTNEY, GORDON, METCALF DAWSON, WALL & MENDELHAL Linda, Yes I have a lot of info about Boaz fam. and pictures that my grandmother had. I have picture of outside of Cottage Hotel, picture of inside with my G. Grd. mother, grandmother (at abt. age 16), her sister Roberta, sister-in-law Pearl, and 3 others., I have 2 pictures of large gathering of Boaz's , Courtney's Gordon, and others. (it shows the one that is blind) Picture Ringwood Bank, picture of view looking down Main St. when the water town was in middle of road and roads are dirt. I have picture of Mary Boaz, Lula , Mae and Leona "Lona".. And many more. John T. and Mary Boaz lived in Gallatin Co., KY and then Metcalf, IL., JohnT., b.1835, d.1890 ,Pialet (or Pealet?) Grove Ridge Farm, IL. Mary, b.1841 , KY. d. 1927, buried Pleasant Hills Ceme, Ringwood, OK. their children were: John P. "Bud" ,b. 1861/62, Gallatin Co., KY. James D. "Jim", b. 1866, buried Booneville, AR. Charles "Charlie", b. 1868, Edgar Co., IL> William Walter "Skip", b/1870, Edgar Co., IL>, lived in Crawfords, Ind. Lula , married Edward Wall Mae (or May), married Walter Metcalf. Leona "Lona", married James Dawson I have all the children of the above also. As you can see John T was father of John P."Bud", he also was married to a Mary Boaz, so it gets confusing. Mary Boaz (not same as Bud's wife) was mother of Lula. When John T. died in IL> Mary moved to Ringwood. Her sister Amanda Jane was married to James Gordon. When amanda died Mary married James Gordon. Mary is also called Mollie. Now there is another Mary White/Boaz who was second wife of John P. "Bud". she is the one that ran the Ringwood Hotel. Bud's lst wife was a Miss. Mendelhall. Her sister was married to James "Jim" Boaz. Jim's 2nd wife was Josephine Mull. As to Ed & Lula living with a Mary Boaz, it depends which mary. If Lula mother than Ed would be son-in-law. But if it's Buds wife Mary Boaz, than Lula would be her sister- in- law. As I mentioned John T. is buried in IL>, so he's not in Pleasant Hills. My g.grd. father Presley Courtney is buried at Pleasant Hills, but has no headstone. i think Ida is either buried there or in Enid. After Presley died she married a Isaac Phillips and they lived in Enid. OK. This is just a guess, but the Anna L. Boaz you listed may be one of the Mendelhal sisters that married Boaz's . Just a thought. I'll have to check who Albert is. Well my husband wants me to get off here. Let me know if you have pictures of family or not. I can scan some to you tomorrow. jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Walls <lwalls@ix.netcom.com> To: <bojo@redrivernet.com> Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2000 4:50 PM Subject: Ringwood, OK > Hi Jackie, > > I was mistaken about the Cottage Hotel. (J.W., Presley, Mary Ann, & Amanda were bro. & sisters, orig. from KY.) Presley and Ida were my grt. grd. parents, they moved to Ringwood from KY. in 1903. They had Grace COURTNEY/SINCLAIR, my grandmother. She has passed away, but had told me she went to the Methodist Church in Ringwood as a young girl. There is several Vol. of 80th Ann. of Ringwood and I think it was there that I read there was a Ringwood Hotel on west side of Main St. and Cottage Hotel on east side of Main St. . I believe Mary BOAZ owned the Ringwood Hotel and Presley and Ida ran or owned Cottage Hotel . ----- Original Message ----- From: Sam Campbell <campbels@olg.com> To: <bojo@redrivernet.com> Sent: Friday, December 29, 2000 1:54 PM Subject: Re: [OKMAJOR] Fw: Arnold > Good Afternoon! > > I'm not Robert, but am definitely interested in Ringwood and Meno and was > just there this past summer. 3. Robert: The books were the 80th Ann. of Ringwood, OK. I have Vol. 2 and I think Vol. 1. The front page doesn't say Vol. 1, but page 1 , is titled Memoirs -- Wilda Craig Lee. Page 4 is "My Mothers Claim" I would like to find out more info on a Cottage Hotel that Presley & Ida Courntey ran , it was located on Main St. I think there is a Gas Station there now, or it was 10 yrs. ago. Was told Presley & Ida later on moved to Meno and ran a boarding place also. Don't know the name of it. Do you know where I could get some info about Ringwood on internet or does the Chamber of Commerce possible have something. Would you please e-mail me there address. Thanks for your help.
