    3. William C Burchfield is the son of Samuel Charles Burchfield and Sarah Ellen Mason. He is a brother to John Edward Burchfield who married my grandfather's sister, Edith Viola Coulter. A 1907 map of Major County shows several Burchfields living north of Ames. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okmajor/majortwp.htm. There is also an out-of-print book entitled: The Mason-White Family History by James M Freed, which gives info about many of the Burchfields in Major County, OK. 2. No, that is not the one I'm looking for. This Mary's maiden name was Ollenberger & was from KS. I think after she married she moved to CO. She is much younger than Mary Just.

    2. According to the Ollenberger Org website there was a Mary Just who married Albert Ollenberger. Maybe Just in a typo or the names changed here in American. The Ollenbergers spelled there name every which way, even in the same generation. Here's their info: Albert Charles OLLENBERGER b: September 09, 1895 Woods Co, OK d: June 19, 1994 Mary Edna JUST b: January 21, 1900 Isabella, OK m: July 08, 1917 Belco, Beaver Co., OK d: June 1985

    2. Seeking more information about my great grandparents. They moved from Fawn River, MI and settled in Orienta, OK. Eligah died in Orienta on Feb. 27, 1895. He is buried in a small cemetery. My great grandmother, Elizabeth (Webber) then moved to Clearwater, KS. We believe at least one of their children is also buried at Orienta. A number of years ago, Mrs. Hall, an Orienta resident, helped my Aunt find the cemetery. Thank you.

    1. [OKMAJOR] Re: North Hope Field
    2. No one I talked to for 2 months knew anything about North Hope Field! Lucked out today - there is an article in tomorrow's Fairview Republican about a granite marker erected to mark the site of the Sud Hoffnungsfeld (South Field of Hope) Church. I called the people who were in charge of erecting the monument and found out when the Mennonites came in 1893, they divided into 2 groups because it was too far to travel to have 1 church; thus became the South Mennonite Brethren Church (where the Schales are buried) and the North Mennonite Brethren Church (where the Ollenbergers are buried) - south being the South Field of Hope and the North being the North Field of Hope or directly translated "Hoffnungsfeld=Hope Field." (They later rejoined and became the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church.) So-------------yes, Johan "Heinrich or Henry" Ollenberger was buried in the North Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery--but I don't have him listed in our Cemetery records. Maybe the grave isn't marked? Will see if I can find out. You said you have a copy of Johan's obit. I'd appreciate a copy if you could send one, to put in the library's obit file. I couldn't find one although I looked at the newspaper microfilm. Our address: Major Co. Genealogical Society, PO Box 74, Fairview, OK 73737. I may have an Ollenberger descendant for you who lives here in Fairview. Will e-mail you personally if I find him. Good Luck and Thanks. Pat Weaver, Major Co. Genealogical Society
