Dear List Members, I was sent this site by a fellow researcher "Index to the Guion Miller Roll" http://www.accessgenealogy.com/native/guionmiller/index.htm I found it very interesting - and thought I would pass it on to you. Now for the other items. This message is being sent out to all of my list, some which only have 3 members and some with almost 1000. If you are one of my smaller lists and feel that you only hear from me, why don't you take this opportunity to send a query to the list. If you need help from me, please put something in the subject line to alert me that the message is a request for help. When I am at work during the day I use http://www.mail2web.com from my office computer to keep an eye on my lists. I can only read the subject line from there and unless I open each and every message which most times are in the hundreds by 10 am in the morning. This is two time consuming while at work. So, to repeat, if you need my help, please place something in the subject line so that I will know your request needs attention quickly. One more item, It is time or about time when most children are heading back to school and many Moms and or Dads who are staying home now have additional time to work on their genealogy. If we begin to get messages across the lists that do not conform to the guidelines we have for our list, please just let them pass. Remember I am behind the scenes taking care of these problems, helping members subscribe and unsubscribe and reminding members of the guidelines of the list. The only time I send out corrections to the entire list is when the entire list is involved or when one of our members is being attached on the list - I then come to the defense in the same place the attack took place -- On the list. My Cousin Robert Bruce Loomis, born 20 May 1939 in Enid, Garfield Co., OK died this August 15, 2001 also in Garfield Co., OK Bruce left several adult children who I have no contact with and would love to find. First child is a female, who would be about 45 now - Mother's Maiden name Harmon. Second is a female, Mother's Maiden name Bush - think this daughter was born while Bruce and the mother was living in Cleo Springs, Major Co., OK. Third, Colt Loomis died in a car accident in Las Vegas age 14. Mother's Maiden name unknown. Fourth, same mother as Colt, male or female unknown. Pat, I have met you before, I am the one that donated the long WW I photo of the men of Enid, with Jack Hardgrave in it and some high school graduating announcements one time. I also gave you all the Genealogical Helper magazines that I had. I believe I also gave some other photos that I thought were from Enid, but there were no names on the back. My grandparents built the building on main street with the big "H" in it where the bar and grill are, is was their dry cleaning business. Freida, pldi.net (Pioneer Long Distance) I think is the only local provider with a local access number - I may be wrong. The problem in Fairview is that phone calls to ANYWHERE but Fairview are long distance (some places this means across the road is long distance). Fairview is on Southwestern Bell and they have a deal that for $30 per month you can make unlimited phone calls to area codes 580 (us) & 405 (most of the rest of Oklahoma but not all). Most ISPs have access numbers in these 2 area codes so if you pay the $30 per month, you don't have to pay the long distance charges for your Internet. Check the msn access numbers to be sure. My husband's paternal grandparents were Icy Dow Carpenter Wilson and George Thomas Carpenter of Fairview. Both are buried in Major County. Icy's second husband was Fred Wilson, who was also in Fairview. I believe that Cordelia McCray Dow (mother of Icy) and Frances "Fannie" Ewing Carpenter (mother of George Thomas Carpenter) are buried in Major County. His maternal grandparents were William Thomas Smith and Mae Irene Spivey Smith. They lived in Fairview and are buried there. Mae's parents were Temple Cullen Spivey and Isabella McBride Spivey.
