Mr. Walker was born April 14, 1914, at Simon, the son of Pleas R. and Dellar M. Lindsay Walker. He died Wednesday, October 29, 2003, in Mercy Health-Love County Hospital, Marietta. He returned to Love County to make his home in 1982, previously living in Odessa, Texas from 1946 to 1972 and then 10 years in Enid. He and Ann Goodwin were married December 30, 1935 in Madill. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Walker was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 2, 1942, and was honorably discharged on October 4, 1945. While in service he was awarded such citations as the Good Conduct Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the American Service Medal. Mr. Walker was a retired contract oilfield pumper. He was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ, American Legion and Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Ann Walker of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and two brothers. Pallbearers were Lavon Hicks, Bert Walker, Keith Walker, Kurt Walker, Duffy Walker and David Kerr. Honorary bearers were Pete Hambrick, Pete Jordan, Dale Hallum, Marvin Wade, Jerry Kerr, Badger McBride, Dave Donaldson, Ronnie Patton and Raymond Ross.
