Jordan, 66, of Overbrook, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 9, at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, Ardmore, with Rev. Charles Ryan officiating. Mr. Jordan was born August 21, 1937, at Goodwater, the son of Afton and Muriel Kemp Jordan. He died Monday, October 6, 2003, at Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. He had been a resident of Love County for the past 12 years, previously making his home in Norwalk, California. While living in California, he worked as a bartender and carpenter. His hobby was building and racing cars. Mr. Jordan was the 2002 track champion at the Ardmore Raceway at Springer. He attended the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church. Survivors include his wife, Ida B. Jordan of the home; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon Jordan, Dale and Nancy Jordan, Jim Jordan, Carroll Jordan, Dean "Buzz" and Trish Jordan, Charles and Frances Ryan, Jim and Beth Ryan, and Patricia Ryan; ten sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Carl Barclay, Loretta and Garlin Newton, Carol Freeman, Janet and Victor Seville, Margaret and Chuck Fox, Phyllis and Ronn Cushman, Reda and Ernie Pacheco, Sandra Ryan, Debbie Ryan and Kathy and Wayne Neville; all surviving relatives live in Southern California or Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers were nephews, Steve Ryan, Jason Ryan, John Ryan, Chuck Ryan, Paul Ryan and Billy Stinson. Honorary bearers were all of Mr. Jordan's friends at Ardmore Raceway. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy Wayne Jordan in 1982; and twins, Ida Ann Jordan and Howard Austin Jordan in 1957. Interment was in the McAlister Cemetery, Overbrook, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta. Source: Marietta Monitor, Love County, October 10, 2003, page 4.
