Officiating were Rev. C.E. Means and Rev. W.Z. DeMent. Mrs. Hicks was born April 5, 1908, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, the daughter of William F. and Rose Anna Bowlin Hallum, and died November 14, 1994, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. Mrs. Hicks had lived in Love County since 1920, living in Jimtown before moving to Marietta. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Marietta. She married Earl Robert Hicks December 8, 1924, in Ardmore, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1986. Mrs. Hicks was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Aaron, Mae Spelee and Viel Powell; and three brothers, Rufus Jones, George Jones and Dick Hallum. Survivors include four sons, Earl Ray Hicks of Rubottom, Glyn Hicks of Marietta, Burney Hicks of Moore and Gary Hicks of Lone Grove; two daughters, Peggy McEntire of the home in Marietta, and Maxine Reed of Marietta; a brother, Louie J. Hallum of Del City; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grand-children and five great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Jimtown Cemetery. Courtesy of Ray and Elreeta Weathers. Mrs. Hicks was my sister's mother-in-law at one time. I recall visiting her house at Jimtown on many occasions and she made me feel right at home. She was a wonderful cook and always very cheerful.
