Hodges were at 2:00 p.m.Tuesday in Simon Cemetery with Bro. Roy Hannah officiating. Mr. Hodges was born November 8, 1915, at Simon, the son of Ira A. and Myrtle L. Walker Hodges and died March 18, 1995, in the Memorial Hospital of Southern Oklahoma, Ardmore. Mr. Hodges was raised at Simon and attended school there. He married Bethel Lea Allison on April 19, 1936, and she preceded him in death on January 25, 1974. He then married Dorothy Dee Newby Howard on May 25, 1974, and they have made their home in Wilson. Mr. Hodges worked in the oil fields for Cox & Hammon for 20 years as well as farmed, ranched and did custom baling. Mr. Hodges was also preceded in death by an infant son in 1951; a son, Tom Hodges on May 5, 1990; and his only brother, Meril "Red" Hodges on July 8, 1977. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dee Hodges of the home in Wilson; a son, A.C. Hodges of Burneyville; two daughters, Jamie Stoneking of Clinton, Missouri, and Ruth Kerley of Ringling; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
