He was born November 14, 1941 in Rubottom, Oklahoma to Emmitt and Dorothy May Barrick. Dorven married the love of his life, Wanda Kaye on May 8, 1961. Gene was self-employed part owner/operator of B & B Hot Shot Service. Then from 1987 worked with his wife in Barrick Maintenance until he became disabled in January of 2003. His favorite pastime was watching TV and palying with his pride and joy granddaughter, Ashley. He was loved by many. Gene is survived by his wife, Wanda Kaye; one daughter, Toni Renea Ginn and husband Mark; one granddaughter, Ashley Nichole; one sister, Rita Jackson Collard and husband Bill of Norman; one brother, Frederick Barrick and wife Judy of Olathe, Kansas; one aunt, Alta Fae Jobe of Burneyville, OK; and loving friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, May; two nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 15, 2003 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
