Hilton, 75, of Marietta, were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 8, at Marietta's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Higle officiating, assisted by Scott Gordon. Mrs. Hilton was born January 5, 1928, at Enos, the daughter of Roy and Nettie Minyard Wilkins. She died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore. She had been a resident of Love County since 1948, previously making her home in Kingston. She and Alvin Hilton were married October 23, 1948, in Gainesville, Texas. A homemaker, Mrs. Hilton enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, crocheting and taking care of her family. She had been a very faithful, active member of Marietta's First Baptist Church since 1952. Survivors include her husband, Alvin Hilton of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marion and Laverne Hilton and Bill and Karen Hilton of Marietta; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jerry Balch of Marietta; five grandchildren, Lynn Hilton and his wife Julie, Jeff Clark, Christy Sullivan and her husband Shane, Jereme HIlton and Justin Hilton; and two great-grand-children, Dakota Layne Hilton and Aimee Lynn Hilton. Mrs. Hilton was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Hubert Wilkins, Lee Wilkins, Ben Wilkins, Tommy Wilkins, Roy Wilkins Jr. and Willie Wilkins; two sisters, Ola Mae Abernathy and Iva L. Vinson; a half-brother, George Wilkins; and three half-sisters, Mary Wolfe, Gladys Arnold and Florence Pennington. Pallbearers were Kent Shankles, George Hicks, G.W. Flanagan, Jim Coble, Jessie Kirk and Charles Coffey. Honorary pallbearers were John McBride, Bill Dvorak, M.G. Vinson, Roy Porter, V.B. "Tup" Robertson, Gilbert McCartney and members of the Deborah Sunday School Class of Marietta's First Baptist Church. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
