Officiating was Rev. Mel Caraway. Mrs. Meador was born March 23, 1907, at Sivells Bend, Texas, the daughter of Archie and Myrtle Dillard Franklin, and died January 26, 1999, in the Muenster Medical Center, Muenster, Texas, after a brief illness. Mrs. Meador moved to Marietta with her family in 1912 and lived here until 1929 when she married Christopher Dawson (Kit) Meador. They moved to Saint Jo, Texas, where they made their home for the next 70 years. Mrs. Meador was a member of the Saint Jo First United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Franklin Meador of Decatur, Texas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Meador was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, J.E. Monroe; sister, Mona Robertson; and stepsister, Marie Batson. Services were directed by McCoy Funeral Home with interment in the Mountain Park Cemetery, Saint Jo. Pallbearers were nephews, Joe Lessert, Norman Sloan, Lynn Puckett, Bill Tom Meador, Lewis Martin, Bill Robertson, Robert Reeves and Bill Payne.
