Pat Davis officiating. Born July 11, 1928, at Courtney, Mr. McEntire died June 29, 1994, in Gunnison, Colorado. He was the son of Henry A. and Cora Hancock McEntire. Mr. McEntire grew up in Love County and had made his home in Grand Prairie, Texas, for the past 31 years. He had been a truck driver most of his life, currently working for K Trucklines. A veteran of World War II, Mr. McEntire served in the U.S. Navy. He and the former Billie Burkhart were married May 6, 1950, at Marietta. Mr. McEntire was a member of the Bowles Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Billie McEntire of the home in Grand Prairie; a son, Dwain McEntire of Grand Prairie; three daughters, Cynthia Wenk, Beverly Bensley and Debbie Davis, all of Grand Prairie; three brothers, James Ray McEntire of Everett, Washington, David McEntire of Springtown, Texas, and Paul McEntire of Ardmore; two sisters, Virgie Price of Henrietta, Texas, and Hazel Brewer of Arlington, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Burkhart of Marietta; and seven grandchildren. Mr. McEntire was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Janice McEntire on August 19, 1963; and two sisters, Mary Asilee Harris in 1972 and Ruth Glenn in 1986. Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Kirk, Ed Dameron, Whistle Sheppler, Carl Foster, Jr. and Joe Miller.
