He died Monday, January 27, 2003, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina. He had been a resident of the Falconhead Community since 1992. He and Pamela Freeman were married on August 31, 1984 at Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from Holiday High School in Holiday, Texas in 1947. Mr. Neimeyer worked in the oil fields, was a service manager for J.C. Penney Company for eight years and retired in 1994 from TLMRC in Haslet, Texas where he was a maintenance supervisor for 13 years. He was currently driving for Lone Star Transportation of Gainesville. He enjoyed woodcrafts, riding horses and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Pam of the home; one son, William Patrick Neimeyer of Falconhead; five daughters, Kavin A. Vickery of Houston, Joyce Hutzler of Castroville, Texas, Kathy Cowey of Seguin, Texas, Tanga Smith of Thackerville, and Tammy Mitchell of Falconhead; three brothers, Glen Neimeyer of Houston, Floyd James Neimeyer of Ashdown, Arkansas and Billy Neimeyer of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Dorothy Jones of Arizona, Gladys Neece of Dallas and Verdell Loudamy of Arlington; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Neimeyer was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Kerry Karl Neimeyer in 1983 and Mark Anthony Melton in 1998; a brother, Ed Neimeyer; and a grandson in 1979. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Harshey of Plainview. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Carl Dennis of Hagerman, New Mexico, and Mrs. Helen Harshey of Lubbock, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Willis of Marietta. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Butler of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Lavica Williams of Sand Springs, and Mr. Lee Cowherd of Lone Grove. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white organza a-line dress with rhinestone spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was adorned with beaded Schiffili lace. The flowing skirt also had beaded Schiffili lace around the bottom of the dress and the chapel length train. Her elbow-length veil was accented with white ribbon around the bottom. She carried a trailing bouquet of white roses, gerber daisies, stephanotis and baby's breath. In keeping with the tradition, something new was her dress and necklace, something old was a penny minted in the year of her birth, something borrowed was a pearl ring, and something blue was her garter. Matron of honor was Jessica Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas. Bridesmaids were Tera McConnell of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mikhael Bucher, sister of the groom, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Barbie Grimes of Lubbock. Each wore a formal-length navy sleeveless top with an a-line skirt. They each carried a nosegay of white roses, gerber daisies, stephanotis and baby's breath. Best man was Paul Willis of Oklahoma City, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Kenneth Tumblesom of Oklahoma City, Quentin Bucher, brother-in-law of the groom, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Craig Harshey, brother of the bride, of Lubbock. Musical selections were provided by Sarah Herrington, pianist and Alan and Lynda Schantz, vocalists. They sang "How Beautiful," "Surely the Presence of the Lord," and "Shine on Us." Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlor. Kaci Hill of Tulsa and Serena Cowart of Amarillo, friends of the bride, served a five tier strawberry cake decorated with silver ribbon and fresh flowers made by the bride's mother. Debora Keesee and Kandace Keesee, both of Lubbock, cousins of the groom, served German chocolate cake and coffee at the groom's table. Hostesses for the reception were Kay Lathem, Rhonda Travis, Susan Hart and Coco Riojas. The bride elect is a 1996 graduate of Dalhart High School, Dalhart, Texas. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in May 2002 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She is currently employed as a pharmacist for Albertson's in Oklahoma City. The groom is a 1996 graduate of Marietta High School. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma and is employed by Cox Communications in Oklahoma City. After a wedding trip to Estes Park and Ft. Collins, Colorado, they are at home in Oklahoma City. Pre-wedding courtesies included a bridal shower in Dalhart, hosted by Kay Lathem, Sharon Wilson, Margaret Adamson, Debra Ford, Kakie Cadenhead, Linda Marshall, Donna Beasley, Linda Cheshier, Karen Towler, Lori Felker, Rhonda Fisk, Serena Cowart, and Barbie Clugy. Davis, Sr. He was a devoted graduate of the University of Oklahoma, making numerous trips back for the OU-Texas rivalry games. Mr. Davis served with the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the European Theater. Prior to retiring, he worked for the Treasury Department for 30 years. Mr. Davis volunteered at Verdugo Hills Hospital, Oakmont Seniors, Federated Seniors, and assisted with the golf tournaments at Oakmont Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors. An elementary school teacher, Mrs. Cooke taught at Oklahoma City, Jimtown, Burneyville and at schools in Oregon and Washington. During World War II, she worked at John A. Brown and Company in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Cooke graduated from Burneyville High School and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and art from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1940. She received her master's degree in teaching from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1958. Mrs. Cooke was an avid bird watcher and wrote articles on birds for the newsletter in her retirement home in Baton Rouge. She was also a member of the Audobon Society of America. She was an outstanding classroom teacher and a gifted artist as well. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, Jerrell and June Elston of Burleson, Texas, Doris Turpin of Fort Worth, Texas, Kenneth and Marjorie Dixon of Lafayette, Louisiana, Myra Lee of Baton Rouge, Ruth King of Somis, California, Sondra Bonds of Denison, Texas and Truman and Ruth Wester of Denison, Texas. Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her husband, Homer F. Cooke; her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Colson and Alice Shankles; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lera and Homer Dixon, Angie and Orren Wester, Connie and Dewey King, Mae and Shawnee Brown and Esther and Albert Brofft. She is a 2000 graduate of Marietta High School and is in the United States Air Force stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana, working in civil engineering operational readiness. Mr. Lugo-Casasus is the son of Wilson and Marina Lugo. He is also in the United States Air Force at Barksdale AFB at Shreveport, working as a personal security officer.
