Tommy Higle, pastor of Marietta's First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Folsom was born February 7, 1907, in Dixie, Indian Territory, the son of Peter Ward and Diddie Auld Folsom. He died October 9, 1992, at the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 85. A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Folsom was a former State Representative, a retired school teacher and superintendent. He taught in a a number of schools in the area, including Leon, Burneyville, Greenville, and Plainview and in some schools that are no longer in existence. Mr. Folsom was a member of the Love County Retired Teachers Association, National Educators Association, and the Oklahoma Educators Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Folsom of the home at Greenville; three sons, Charles T. Folsom of San Benito, Texas, Terry W. Folsom of Ardmore, and Jim W. Folsom of Marietta; three daughters, Mona C. Bland of Terrell, Texas, Peggy McPherson of Grapevine, Texas, and Beverly Thomas of Lewisville, Texas; a sister, Ethel Creel of Quitman, Texas; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Folsom was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Fisher Folsom, on November 8, 1961. Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. A resident of Falconhead since 1981, Mr. Taylor moved there from Lawton. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service, in which he served in Italy during World War II where he received the Purple Heart for wounds received. He retired as a Captain then worked for 12 years as an instructor in Communications and Electronics for the Signal Corps. He married Polly Golson August 25, 1938, in Anson, Texas. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Falconhead Christian Fellowship Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and the Retired Officers Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Polly Taylor of the home at Falconhead; a son, Gene Taylor of McGregor, Texas; two brothers, Curtis Taylor of Clyde, Texas, and Joe Taylor of Gustine, Texas; three sisters, Virgie Cox of Stamford, Texas, Arlie Gandy of Bethany, and Lucille Gugua of Conroe, Texas; and five grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, David Taylor, who died in January 1966 while serving in Vietnam; and a brother. Services were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. A resident of Love County most of his life, he married the former Hazel Overstreet March 3, 1946, in Marietta. They owned and operated the Montgomery Grocery Store at Abner from 1955 until 1975. He later worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department and Love County District 3. A World War II veteran, Mr. Montgomery served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and in Australia and received the American Pacific Service Ribbon and five Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the Distinguished Unit Badge. Mr. Montgomery was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Montgomery of the home in Marietta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gary and Linda Bloomer of Seminole and Terry and Martha Reddout of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Clarence Montgomery of Eastman and Calvin Montgomery of Marietta; a sister, Margie Langford of Ardmore; a sister-in-law, Elsie Montgomery of Eastman; a brother-in-law, Jim McGiboney of Flower Mound, Texas; six grandchildren, Randy Bloomer, Connie Yeager, Gary Keith Hicks, Lance Bloomer, Charles Reddout, and Chris Reddout; and three great-grandchildren, Tara Yeager, Cody Yeager, and Kristin Hicks. She enjoyed dancing and lived life to the fullest. Mrs. Claxton was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ardmore. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Claxton of Chickasha; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Wood of Ardmore; a granddaughter, Lonetta Short of Gene Autry; two grandsons, Shannon Claxton and Scott Wood, both of Ardmore; and four great-grandchildren. She and Orren Wester were married May 14, 1916. During the years that Mr. Wester was Sheriff of Love County, 1934 through 1946, Mrs. Wester prepared the meals for the inmates and made the jail a showplace, growing beautiful flowers for all to enjoy. She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Hills Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Truman and Edna Wester of Denison, Texas; a daughter, Sondra Bonds, also of Denison; a sister, Zula Cooke of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wester was preceded in death by her husband in 1958; a son, Jim Edd Wester in 1938; four sisters and a brother. It shows that Henry Clay Russell owned a Blacksmith shop. In the 1880 Census from Stevens County, Tx it shows Abna Pipes Age 50, Sarah J. Age 36 and Etta A. Pipes (my greatgrandmother) Age 11 Mr. Kenneth Hayes (my dad's step-father) was born April 27, 1918, in Colleyville, Texas, the son of John Gilbert and Allie Young Owens, and died February 6, 1995, in Yuma, Arizona. He was a retired manager of Braden Machinery of Wellton, Arizona, for 20 years and of Empire Machinery Company for four years. Mr. Hayes was the past treasurer of the Boy Scouts of Yuma, past member of the Marietta IOOF Lodge, past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge #1906 of Ardmore, past member of Wellton, Arizona Kiwanis Club and past president of Antelope-Wellton Rotary Club. He was also a member of the follow Philatelic Organizations: American Philatelic Society, Rotary on Stamps and American Society for Philatelic Pages and Panels. He is survived by three sons, Armine Clay Russell Jr. of Clinton, Stewart Hayes of Wright City and Larry Hayes of Yuma; a daughter, Kenna Redmon of Ephrata, Washington; a brother, Gil Owens of Beaumont, Texas; a sister, Dana Owens of Eldorado, Texas; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Marie Wicker Russell Hayes (my grandmother), on June 9, 1979. He was the son of Armine Clay Russell Sr. and Billie Marie Wicker Russell. Mr. Russell had lived in Bethany since February 1998. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and was employed by Bell Oil and Gas Refinery for 15 years. He attended the First United Methodist Church while a resident of the Marietta area. He is survived by two sons, Kelly Clay Russell of Moore and Kenneth Aaron Russell of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Russell of Hinton; two brothers, Stewart Hayes of Wright City and Larry Hayes of Yuma, Arizona; two sisters, Kenna Kay Redmon of Ephrata, Washington, and Linda Henry of Riverside, California; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Hicks was born April 5, 1908, in Oak Grove, Louisiana, the daughter of William F. and Rose Anna Bowlin Hallum, and died November 14, 1994, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. Mrs. Hicks had lived in Love County since 1920, living in Jimtown before moving to Marietta. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Marietta. She married Earl Robert Hicks December 8, 1924, in Ardmore, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1986. Mrs. Hicks was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Aaron, Mae Spelee and Viel Powell; and three brothers, Rufus Jones, George Jones and Dick Hallum. Survivors include four sons, Earl Ray Hicks of Rubottom, Glyn Hicks of Marietta, Burney Hicks of Moore and Gary Hicks of Lone Grove; two daughters, Peggy McEntire of the home in Marietta, and Maxine Reed of Marietta; a brother, Louie J. Hallum of Del City; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grand-children and five great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home with interment in the Jimtown Cemetery.
