Joseph Pringey was born in Fayette County, PA, in 1858. He moved to Missouri in 1870, then to Chandler, Ok., abt. 1891. I know that he was a Congressman from March 4, 1921 to March 3, 1923, serving in the 67th Congress. I also have found that he is buried in Oak Park Cemetery, and have photos of his tombstone. His wife was Josephine, but have no other information on her. Joseph's brother, George W. Pringey, also moved to Ok. abt. 1891, living in Ponca City, OK. I have no information on him, except that he is also buried in Oak Park Cemetery. Would like to hear from anyone who might know anything about this family, or possibly any children they might have had. Thanks, Barbara Researching Prinkey/Prinkey in PA, W VA, IA, OK.
Hello Barbara... First, no, I don't have info on your ancestor, but I do have a suggestion for you to try. A few years ago, I was researching a U.S.Senator from TN and I wrote to the TN state library. They sent me a short bio on him that did have his spouse, siblings, where and how he died, etc. You might want to try the Oklahoma State Library. Another thought would be the Congressional Library in Washington, D.C. Here is the official State of OK web site: http://www.state.ok.us/ Just type in state library in the search box. Here is a site for searching for biographical info at the U.S. Capitol: http://bioguide.congress.gov/biosearch/biosearch.asp It is a biographical directory of the U.S. Congress from 1774 to present. Hope these help you. Lois in Auburn, CA
