We have him definitely located in Cooke County, TX on the 1880 census where he is living with his brother. After that, we can not find him but feel certain that he went into the Oklahoma terrritory for the Land Rush. As I had told you on a previous e-mail, a lady who is a descendant of the Key Family of Lincoln County that you gave me information on, does not know who that H. Keyes or Sally Keyes were on the "Lincoln County, OK - Land Records - Kickapoo Township" on line document. Another page states that the Lincoln County, Oklahoma Territory, Original Land Records, "are not necessarily the names of the people who were successful in the Land Run of 1891, but are the people who had the properties in 1903. To further research the land, note the description of the property you are interested in (section, township, and range numbers) and contact the Clerk of the County Court, Chandler, OK." Sally Keyes had land in "North Choctaw Township, Township 13 North, Range 4 East" and H. Keyes had land in "Union Township, Township 15 North, Range 4 East". It may still be very possible that our Turner "Henry" Keyes may have married and claimed land in Lincoln County, OK before and around that 1903 time period. He would have been 50 years of age in 1903. In 1880, he was still a single man, so if he got married, it was after that census. Do you have any suggestions or advice on how I might be able to confirm or eliminate this H. Keyes as being ours? Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Sandra Keyes Kennedy
