His father died 3 months before he was born. and his mother never remarried. he was the youngest of 6 children . they were ; [1]Noah Hartford born 1878 [2] Dora born [3] Ollie Mae Born Died in Red cloud Neb. [3] William Henry Jr born 1885 [5] John George born After his fathers death in Red Cloud Neb Lucy left Neb for Ikla but had 2 stop for awhile in Kansas when Moses was born. They arrived in Arlingon Okla , Lincoln co ca 1897. they were there only a short time then moved to Ft Gibson Okla. from there they moved to Oil Trough Bottom .Independence Co Ark. then to boone co ark before 1903 Mose had 2 sisters and 3 brothers Dora married born aug 1 1881 married Claude Brown died dec 4 1941 @lawton Okla. Cloud co . from there she went to her sister in Arlington Ok.[she only had 1 sister]. she and her brother-in - law had problems and she left and moved to Ft gibson. in Ft Gibson there was a well to do indain family[Pleasant Porter , Cheif of Creek Nation] that wanted Dora to become a companion to the only dau so Lucy let them take her to either Mo or Kansas. but Bertha has Doras Diary that she is coping for me. she said it was real sad. Dora married Claude Brown in either Mo or Kansas Bertha is going to let me know later. Lucy left Ft Gibson and moved back to boone co in 1902. Dora had 1 dau only Lucille she married ? Johnson and had 5 kids. This is according to the death certificate. The obituary in the Chandler News- Publicist said that the Gayman-Sutton-Downing funeral home was in charge. I went to the funeral home in Chandler and they had info on Frank Heldt who died in 1965. Today it might be the Curry funeral home. I can't remember for sure.

Glad you got a chance to visit down there. I went to school with some of the Schmidt children in Wellston, and I have lots of relatives in that area as well. Were you able to find out anything about the location of the funeral home or the time frame when it was in business? It doesn't match the names of any that I am familiar with in that area and I wonder if they are current or long ago as well as who might have their records. I don't know if the records for the Lutheran Cemetery are also at the Wellston Town Hall, but we did find out this summer that they do have good records there for the Wellston Cemetery which is north of Wellston. Let me know if you find out info on the Gaymon funeral home as I've seen several requests regarding it. Annie

The cemetery is southwest of Wellston, Lincoln Co. My Great Great Grandfather Henry Heldt (1859-1944) is buried there. His son Frank is buried there also without a stone. They lived with the Willie Schmidt family since Willie was Henry's stepson. I'm planning on visiting again. Thanks Larry

Shortly after arriving in Lincoln Co during the land rush, Emily died (1901) from complications of a scorpion bite. She is buried in the Iowa Chapel cemetery next to her young son Ivan Ray. Seeking information about her other children, Lillie, Addie, Stella, Roy, and Marshall Hiner. My grandfather was Bert Cecil Hiner. Emory HIner's parents were Abraham Hiner and Ruth Funkhouser. I do not know who Emily Castor's parents were.
