I haven't gone to the health department to get his death certificate. I found at least three listings that might be him on the early landowners in Lincoln County. His wife is the daughter of John Gordon. All are buried in the Kendrick Cemetary. I have found John and his wife Nancy Jane in the Oklahoma Territory 1900 census, but I have not found the Hensleys.

One of the HENSLEY families that settled in the Lincoln/Logan/Oklahoma County area has an unaccounted-for James E. HENSLEY born about 1841 -- which would have made him eligible to homestead in the Kendrick area when those lands were opened in 1891.

(Gordon) Hensley. They homesteaded near Kendrick. They are buried in the cemetary there. They had five children - Elora, who married Clarence Fink (they are buried in Kendrick, as are their two children), Monnie - who married Leon Oppenheimer, Avayd (my grandmother) who married Thomas A. Patterson, also two sons - John who died in infancy and Joe, who was married twice and died young (he is also buried in Kendrick). Joe had children, but I don't know where they are now. Any information regarding any of these would be greatly appreciated.

My Hobbs ancestors settled in Chandler OK and my gr-grandmother was Evelyn Alice Harris Hobbs.
