There is an old family story that my gr-grandfather John Henry Hobbs was half Indian and he acquired some land in Lincoln County? because of his Indian hertiage. He in turn gave the land to one of his sons. He came to Oklahoma in 1900 settling first in Creek than Lincoln county. Is there anyway I can find out if this is true or find a record. Dear List Members, I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences" http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of those working in the courthouses. I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse experience you add them to this site. I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit later this year.
