Looking for connections to the family of Dr. John Clement Burton who was in Stroud, Lincoln County, Okolahoma as a druggist in the 1900 census. He married Dora Ellen Miller, possibly Kansas about 1885. Thank you
Tammie and I want to thank publicly the many members and volunteers who have made our Website possible. Your names are to numerous to even try to list. If we tried, we would surely leave out some of you. Without the help and dedication of each of you, the Oklahoma Cemeteries Volunteer and Cemetery Inventory webpage would not be what it is today. I am in awe of those who so willing walk the cemeteries, both in the heat and in the cold, fighting chiggers, ticks and snakes, inventorying these sacred grounds of our ancestors and taking pictures of the stones so you and I can find the resting place of our ancestors and gaze upon their names from the comfort of our homes. When I think of the hundreds of e-mails with inventories that Tammie and I have received, the thousands of photos that we have received and continue to receive, those out there, even today, inventorying Oklahoma cemeteries, the willingness of volunteers to search the books and papers they have, to help strangers, I know without a doubt that those on our list and our fellow Oklahoma researchers are a special group of people and Tammie and I feel blessed to be a part of you. I've located the address of the Chandler Museum and have a letter ready to go tomorrow. Thanks.
The Museum of Pioneer History at Chandler (phone 405-258-2425) should be able to tell you the names/locations -- I know they keep a record there and many of the cemeteries in Lincoln co. have been recorded and someone at the museum might have time to look up the name you're looking for. Or at least tell you who the caretaker is -- possibly the court clerk at the courthouse in Chandler would know, also. The only cemetery at Carney that I know of is the one on highway 177, although I'm sure there are other smaller ones in the country. www.topozone.com/findplace.asp is a good URL for locating places, including cemeteries, but Carney was apparently too small to be listed.
My grandfather, James Sheridan Hutchison, d. 5 Nov 1910 in Carney, Ok. How might I locate in which cemetery he's in? Thanks
You could also try the Oklahoma Cemeteries online site for Lincoln County at this URL: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okcemete/lincoln/lincoln.htm They have 26 cemeteries enumerated and listed at this site. For the entire state of Oklahoma, go to this site and select the county you are interested in: http://www.rootsweb.com/~okcemete/okcem.htm Lois in Auburn, CA
I have a Manuel Pidcock in my line, but I don't think it's this one. He was a cousin of mine, son of Que and Flora (Hutchison) Pidcock of the Chandler area. He was killed in a jet crash somewhere out west during WWII. He was the pilot. I'm sure there's a connection. Possibly, your Manuel could have been a brother to Que. There were 10 "Pidcocks" in that generation. Their father, Joe Pidcock, married my grandmother, who had 10 of her own. Several brothers and sisters married brothers and sisters. Joe Pidcock and my grandmother, Essie (Rose-Hutchison) lived near Sparks.

Phyllis, There is an article written in the Lincoln County History book on pages 1196 - 1197 by Jeannette Robertson Hardick. "G. A. Robertson Family History" Laura married Chester Trask. To this marriage there were born two daughters. The daughters are not named, nor is there a marriage date or place for Chester and Laura. If you don't find what you are looking for, I would be happy to dig for the info on my next trip to Lincoln County. Cindy Hardin Pottawatomie County, OK

Found a reference to a Dalton cemetery in History of Lincoln County on p 197. It states the cemetery is one-half mile south of Prague on State Highway 99, on the east side, the southwest corner of the intersection in Pottawatomie County. It mentions William D and Mary Ann Dalton's homestead records were dated October 18, 1900, and were filed November 15, 1901. They lived in a one room house about one fourth mile east of the cemetery. Other than this there is no other mention of William or Mary. Chuck Buckley Jerri Hodde wrote: > Hello List, > > Is there Anyone searching for William David DALTON and May (McCurdy ) DALTON?
